I am looking into buying a good but reasonably priced headset that i will primarily use for gaming during nighttime.:)

Please remember that i am using on-board realtek HD audio.I am just looking for pure sound quality and comfort and dont really need surround sound and i also dont want a mic with it.I am also a little worried whether it will be comfortable to game while wearing some headset cuz i have never done it for a long session of gaming so i'll be glad if someone can share their experience with this.

Now i dont have a fixed budget here cuz i dont know how much a good headset costs but i dont need the super high-end kind of a headset but something that is not POS either.

Thankz for any help.:)

I recently got a logitech premium stereo, its quite good for £19.99. Some people have complained its uncomfortable on reviews but i have used it for about 10 hours today and my ears are just a little uncomfortable when i remove them, but after that long it would happen with any headset.

i own the plantronics gamecom1 headset and they ae really comfortable and have decent sound quality

i have used them for like 12 hours straight and i feel like there not even there they are also extremley light and wont have any pressure on your neck it has a mic but you can easily move it to the top so it doesnt bother you and it has a mic jack so since you dont want to use a mic just dont plug it in

and there only 20 bucks on the egg ;)

I have those too, they are nice, and provide good sound, however comfort is a person by person thing, and I find that after 4 hours or so of wearing them, my ears hurt. I wear glasses so this is probably why, but they are a good headset.

This interesting cause I was thinking of doing a post about this ver questi0n and now I don't.

I took a look on tigerdirect and boy it is dificult to find some head sets with out a mic on them. Me I don't want a crappy kind yet I don't want to spend like 100 on one either it needs to be in between really.

I wonder if there are extender cables for headphones cause my reciever sits about 12 ft. away and so with the lenth that i have now wich is like 6 ft. or what ever stander is but anyways I would like to find an extention. If I can great if I can't then I may need to get a new one that is longer.

Well ok can you adjust the mic on that headset so that it is on the side of one of the speakers and not in front of you?

And secondly can i get a headset in let's say $50 that's substantially better than that $20 one.

Ya but if the mic is adjustable so that it would be on the left side along with the left speaker than it wont be that annoying.

But ya i will search for some with no mic.Are there more expensive ones with no mic?

Yeah that mic can swing to the side, however since you wear glasses I really woundnt go that route. I have a pair of behringer headphones that I wear when I play my guitar, they are 3/4 inch, however they make converters for like 3 dollars, either way nobody online sells them, I got them at a local guitar shop for 50 dollars. I would recommend going to a guitar shop, and looking at what they have, best thing about it is you can try them out.

No that's too expensive.

I think i should go to some gaming zone and have a game and wear the headsets and see how i feel.I have used them before but only with CS and you dont really bother with things like comfort while playing CS.:P

lol, yeah I hear ya. I think no matter what you get, the key, when wearing glasses is to get a headset that completely cups your ears, and is tight enough to not rest on the top of your ears. For anybody saying "why cant you just wear contacts" I do, but i kind of forget to blink while gaming sometimes lol, so they dry out too much, so I wear glasses.
