Please Recommend Good 2 Player PC Games (not online)

Can everyone give me some good 2 player pc games please? Not online ones, ones that you can both sit at the pc and play (got a ps2 pad converter and 2 pads).

 Preferably action/shoot em up games but others will be considered.

Errrrr, that is kinda hard you know...

Have seen some flash made games that you can play two on but today's gaming is built upon the fact that there is one player per computer.

Wud like a 3rd person shooter style game preferably.

If you're looking for something really good, wellmade, and also really fun to play with some friends over, get Worms Armagheddon or Worms World Party.. It's so much fun.. And if you want third person shooter I guess you can try 3D worms, but it sucks :p But anyhow, they are cheap and really fun, but not the genre you're looking for.

And once I went searching for online flash games that you can play with another person on the same keyboard, and some of them are so fun.. For like ten minutes. But those ten minutes are hilarious :p 

Marvel Ultimate Alliance - Very cool in coop mode, has some nice (although shallow) RPG touches.

Shadowgrounds - Gamespot score of 6.7, but I thought it was very fun game.  With 2 players it is a blast.

I remember Lego Star Wars allowing coop on one computer, not sure about the sequel Oh, and Obscure also.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland has a co-op mode and the multiplayer some how works with 2 players on one pc.

I'm not sure if it's split screen or what since I have not tried it but here is what the manual says

"Co-Op (that c word you cant say here) mode, New to THAW Co-Op Cl@$$ic mode allows you to grab a friend and play two players simultaneously throughout the entire Cl@$$ic mode progression."

And "2-Player many differnt 2-player games (on one PC). See Multiplayer Games for Further Esplanation of the available games." 13 are available. To much to list all the discriptions.

Worms series

I heard Civ 4 is cool for two people.

   Lego Star Wars 1 or 2.

   Best 2 player game ive ever played.

   Madden is also a good 2 player.

Leiro (and all it's clones) is a very good one.  Its a game based off of worms and is free, google it.  Very fun, and supports 2 people on the same PC.

You can try http://www.gamehippo.com and do an advanced search for free action games with 2 player support.  Some of them are very good too.  Oh, and you might find somthing on http://www.the-underdogs.info , they have large lists of old and semi-old "underdog" games that used to be shareware or commerical that you can now download for free.  Many shareware games back in the day had 2 player support which is why I give that website...

Worms Armageddon.

Can't think of others. Try getting a SNES or N64 emulator and you'll have loads of 2-player games to play. Sadly, it's hard to find some good games.

Left 4 Dead is pretty fun co-op splitscreen with 2 controllers.
