This is related to my other thread about helping me choose a PC for streaming. I decided I might also want to game on PC, but I don't want any multi platform games as I will get those on console. But I would be grateful if you could list me some good PC exclusive games. I like old games also, maybe up to the year 2000.

The only ones I know of and will be getting are:

The Witcher 1

Deux Ex

STALKER (all 3)

System Shock

Half Life

Please can you recommend some more for me. I like shooters and action games. I also wouldn't mind adventure games.

Well...from my experience most shooters are multiplats, so that might be a hard one. The Fallout series is a good shooter/RPG series and while fallout 4 is alright on the PS4 (Haven't got an Xbox one yet) You'd want to get Fallout 3 and New Vegas on the PC. The older Fallout games are also available on steam, although they are quite a bit different from Fallout 3 onward.

Rise and Fall, civilizations at war is a RTS game, but with a twist, you can actually take command of a hero as long as you've reached level 2 or higher and have enough stamina. Probably not what you are looking for but defiantly one I'd recommend.

If you are going to get Mount and Blade Warband or War Thunder, get them on PC. Mount and Blade Warband is an action RPG that places you in the fictional land of Caradia where you can join one of six factions, create your own faction, or just hunt bandits and raiders. A very good time killer so to speak. War Thunderis a tank fighting game where teams face off in tank battles, and is free to play. You can also fight in air warfare or naval warfare.

Either on consoles or PC the Sword art online games are fairly good, albeit long and the Harem trope is taken to a whole different level ranging from hilarious to cringe worthy. You can get all four of them on steam right now.

To be honest, most exclusives these days are strategy games and sims (e.g. city builders). IMO you might be putting too much restriction on yourself if it indeed must be exclusive. Most multiplats also enjoy great PC benefits - not least of which are the customization of visuals and performance to your liking, mouse and keyboard, and mods that add content or make quality of life improvements.

When you say "adventure" games, do you mean things like Myst and Grim Fandango? Those are of course options, and there are some recent PC exclusives you could look at like Obduction

Its a really short game that you can win in 5 hours but I loved Recettear. Wish they expanded the whole game with dlc, it was really great time.

I think you're right. I originally planned to buy the PC just for streaming, and now that I wouldn't mind playing some games on it I get a bit worried I might leave console gaming for PC gaming. Even though I guess that isn't a bad thing, it's just that I've been a console gamer since the start and I don't want that to change which is why I wanted just exclusives on PC. But I do agree with you that I'm restricting myself as I know there are many merits to PC gaming.

When I say adventure I guess I mean games like Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, God of War, Far Cry series etc.

  • Slay The Spire
  • RimWorld
  • Factorio
  • CrossCode
  • Any Civ game
  • Moonlighter
  • Supreme Commander FA
  • Parkitect
  • Return of the Obra Dinn
  • EVE Online
  • Any Bethesda game with a proper mod loadout can elevate the experience way beyond what any console can do. Typically a lot of work though. Worth it IMO if you're into those games.

Ah yeah I loved that game. I though Moonlighter would scratch that itch, but it's not quite the same.

I'm not sure it's 100% pc exclusive, but you should try out the old Wolfenstein games. They were the first FPS ever made, they deserve some credit.

Why would prefer multiplats on console ?

Anyway Penumbra Overture and Penumbra Black Plague are two of my favourite games.

There horror games made by the same developer as Amnesia and Soma, similar gameplay to Outlast.

Homeworld: Remastered Collection is a real time, space strategy game. I played the original when it was released in 1999 and it blew my mind. An amazing game with beautiful graphics, music and narrative story. The controls and interface feel very intuitive and very quick to grasp which was a big plus for me because I was mainly into shooters back then. Highly recommended game!

A decent number of Indie games never make it to console. The current generation made it a lot easier for smaller studios to get their games on consoles but some still don't make the jump.

Thanks for the recommendations guy! A lot of games have been suggested, I will definitely investigate all of them.

My preference is console but that's because I've never experienced games on the PC before. I guess I don't know what I'm missing out on. But that can certainly change as I just bought a new PC and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. If I end up liking the games recommended here aswell as getting accustomed to PC gaming (Keyboard, Mouse etc) I may play the new multi-plats on PC.
