Please suggest a good fps game

what's a good game that has a story/campaign mode, and you can play it online

(example:halo)

please suggest only fps games for PC only.

Left 4 Dead.

Crysis is demanding, has lame online multiplayer not enough modes, etc. 

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty 1, 2, and 4 if you like realistic/historic shooters.

Half-Life 2, Portal, Crysis and Crysis Warhead if you're into Sci-Fi stuff. Maybe Bioshock. That game was kinda overhyped and slow.

Left 4 Dead if you like shooting zombies. And who doesn't?

Left 4 Dead for sure.  It's been sucking away all my free time recently.  I havent played Fallout 3 or DeadSpace since I got Left 4 Dead.

If the price tag is a bit steep, i'd suggest Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike Source, or Call of Duty 4.  Day of Defeat was one of my favorite FPS games but I have yet to try Day of Defeat Source, i'd imagine it's still great though so if you like WW2 shooters i'd suggest that.  I also saw Enemy Territory:Quake Wars on sale for like $6 at Circuit City but I think it was probably a Black Friday only deal.  I've only played the demo but it was pretty fun, not sure how many people play it though.
