I was putting new case fans in my case and i plugged the 4pin molex in and the fan seemed a little louder thani would liked so i unplugged it thinking im not using it then i though i put it in and stuff and see how it sounds with the side closed. when i plugged it in the 2nd time it was much quieter then i noticed the molex was plugged in upside down(Wonder why i had to push so hard). Could having it in upside down do anyhting?
