Plugging PC up to TV. DVI-hdmi cable or hdmi cable?

Not knowing that the back of my computer had an HDMI input, i bought a dvi to hdmi cable at best buy. Should i take it back for a hdmi to hdmi cable? What would the difference be? Im new to this and this is the first time ive tried it.
