Hey, I have a sony vaio, The specs are 3.2 GHZ Pent 4 Processor (its not a dual core processor) the graphic card I have in it now is a AGP, ATI Radeon (somethin forget that numbers) has 256mb of memory. Now I'm not planning on playing any games that are coming out now (on this machine atleast). I just want to know what the best graphic card would be for this computer. As Im planning on keeping it to play my favorite games that I bought in the past 10 years on it, kinda be a Time machine computer. And Im interested in playing call of duty 4 at low-medium settings (im sure that this computer is a lil too old to be packing that game on high settings without needing a overhauling upgrade). Is there any AGP card that I could buy that will allow me to play Call of Duty 4? I do have more a recent computer that I can probably play the game on but I'd like to play it multiplayer with my little brother (since hes equally interested in it to) rather then us taking turns on the computer. Thanks
why buy a new card to play old games? just keep the card you have (sounds decent enough). and you can download cod4 demo; download it, see if it runs ok. and if it does, buy it. if it doesn't, don't. i don't think your pc is worth upgrading with a new card IF you're planning on playing old games with it. i upgraded my old pc (with a d2.8, 1gb ram) with an 8600gt, and it runs all the games on 12x10, high save for some like crysis (12x10, medium with some lags). the 8600gt is like $90 on newegg (if you don't mind rebates).
