I grew up playing the Police Quest series and I am surprized that there isnt a game like it since. I am really hoping that a police simulation game will come out. It would be great if you had a story line where you start out as a rookie cop, the city would be a large city much like grand theft auto, where you can patrol the street, answer calls, make arrests, etc. The story could have you do so many different things; like police pursuits where you have to work with other officers, foot chases, DUI's. etc. Does anyone know of any game coming out like this? Even a game to follow after "Cops" would be nice. I am hoping that someone will do a game like this. Anyone else?

True Crimes Streets of LA was kinda like that... as in you were a coop in a GTA world haha. You got to frisk people and all that.
The only game I can think of being police are the True Crime games. It is kind of a GTA game but instead of being a criminal you are a police, it is your choice if you want to be a good or bad police.
so you just want a GTA/mafia/godfather type of game, only with police as main character.
anyway, since the thread is here, I would add that there's an upcoming game called "Police Simulator"; a RTS in which you can run the police department to handle various city problems.
also, ealier there's Emergency 2012, also RTS, in which you coordinate all the rescue forces. quite a fun game if you're interested in a different kind of, none-battle oriented, RTS.

Not sure if it has been done for emergency 2012 yet but earlier Emergency 1,2,3,4 and 911: First Responders games have a pretty good modding community here. The la mod in particular adds a great deal to the original game.
911:First responders is the _american_ version of Emergency 4.... Emergency 4 just came out in english in europe last year (Or this year, dont really remember.) And also its not really a police sim game its more of a dispatching game....
Though true crime is more about. Pew pew; car chases, action, excitement, breaking the law on your own super rebellious terms. There really isn't anything like the Police Quest games these days.
