::POLL:: Best looking fantasy MMO ?

i know that most of us will disagree which is the best mmo out there when it comes to gameplay and mmorpg quality features, but graphics and performance dont lie, please cast your vote, or if you think that another game not in the list is actually better then please state which game.

Age of Conan is obviously the best-looking mmo, but that doesn't make it worth playing.DGFreak

Or Eve Online, for that matter. Stark raving beautiful, except you almost never get to see your own character - just your spacecraft.

Eve Online isn't fantasy. True. But EQII definately is. If it's got Orcs, it's fantasy.

actually not at all im simply attempting to kill petty arguementing over the best in an environment based on opinion. to say one is better than another is like saying which kind of pie is superior to all others everyone will say something different and on a grand scale is irrelivant.

its interesting to see that actually some players still consider WoW to be the best looking fantasy mmo out there even if its 5 years old and technically cant !

im not criticising or anything, actually i am a fan of the whole warcraft franchise and i really respect Blizzard as a corp better than many others, however im just woundring why some people loose their objectivity, is it because they are attached to WoW that much or is it because they are afraid that the good experience they have with WoW is threatened to end sometimes?

How about Aion? Looks amazing. Not released in North America yet, but it's out in Korea. Heavily-modified CryEngine. Age of Conan is also a great-looking game, closely followed by EQ II. I'd say AoC has more detailed character models, but EQII's are still good, and some of the environments in EQ II are pretty detailed. Greater and Lesser Faydark, for example, both look really nice.

None of the other games on that list are worth mentioning.. all bland and/or dated :)

This poll is amusing. The fact that WoW is in 2nd place and not that far behind AoC really illustrates just how blind (literally perhaps) the average Blizzard fan truly is.

A company that has consistently put out best sellers that lauded in their respective genres as great games, not mention are played by tens of thousands of people years after release, is redefining mediocrity? They are also known for developing polished games (a rarity these days) and have continued support well after release.

Anyways, I also voted for AoC. While I don't think the game is consistently as impressive (artistically) as WoW, it does have quite a few areas with that "woah" factor. and obviously the graphics on a technical level are far superior.

Korea games like Aion tend to look really nice, but so far they have yet to turn out an MMO that's a complete package. Usually it's a matter of great graphics - inferior game engine. But I sure like the looks of 'em.MyopicCanadian

Yuh, I agree, and I think I read it that Aion purchased a real good, established game engine. I'll check that game out.

Could be mistaken, but isn't Guild Wars a Korean game with a good engine. Well, the engine is ok, actually - it's one of those retro, weaksauce "gyroscope" style movement engines, but it's better than most. And Guild Wars looks wonderful. Great game all around, actually.

Definitely Aion, i've been playing in the Korean version of the game for a couple of weeks now. Not only does it look amazing, the gameplay is much better than a standard Asian MMO. It looks Asian, but plays like a Western game.
