No I don't. I loved playing it, I was staying up until 4AM every day playing it when I was playing it.
While i think its an excellent game, i think in some circles its been overrated. the environments/landscapes tend to be repetative (with some exceptions) and the combat while not using VATS is extremely clunky. the choice system is great, as are the side quests, but you really need to scratch around sometimes before you find any decent side quests, and often the best ones are masked under what appear to be boring grind quests for small bucks. (the one where you have to deliver a message). I still think that it is a very good game, just not worthy of the praise it receives from some.
It was a great game imo. Although it had some bugs and other issues I think it got the ratings it deserved.

hell no, its underated, most others sites rated the same as oblivion. What it has other rpg lack? Hmm lets see. its too damn big, yor money worh it. 1)It has a good story 2)It has an awesom worldmap, unlike the crappy ME masp 3)guns.... 4) Its not repettive or borring like ME 5) Every sidequest has the same quality as the main quest 6) those cool skills like lockpicking repairing and first aid, like achemy in oblivion, in most rpgs you ether a swordman or a mage or an archer 7) its world and stuff to do are so massive that they suck you in and you can forget all about the main story and screw around, its not just a game its life in a vitrual world 8) MEGA modding, add hundrends new guns, quests, items and expand the map by yourself... the best modding community ever thant will keep you entairtained for ages 9) 150 hours of non-repettive gameplay 10) no oblivion level balance systemif yes then why ,if no then whats so great about it that other rpg's lack

Very good point ,I actually think it was over priced too when it was releasedYes it is, but I think it's a good game.
What annoys me though are these guys who have never played Fallout 1 and 2, or played them for like 5 minutes and quit, and then bash the older games.
The older games are much better, but Fallout 3 is good too.

The game lacked a proper story and deeper rpg elements so yes. It's good but it gets too much credit.
well I agree and It clearly shows because people who voted no ,don't have even the guts to replyYes, I would say 7.5 would best score
cons : easy/simple combat, bland character, locations (95% of them), dialogues etc, some pretty lame quests
pros : some nice quests , decent leveling options, fun guns.

I think its over hyped a bit yes. But it still is a good game that turned out better then i was expecting. I just htink it could have been alot better.
Its defiantly not a 10/10 like alot of people say, or the best RPG ever like some say. Its more of a solid 8/10 for me personally.
Fallout1/2 had so many better quests, way more humour in the dialogue and the story was alot better imo. Fallout3 definatly has the better graphics and violence, but everything else I preffer in Fallout1/2.
even gamespot has given 9 lolI think its over hyped a bit yes. But it still is a good game that turned out better then i was expecting. I just htink it could have been alot better.

Yes.
Cons: weapons, VATS, broken skill system, story, writing, graphics, non-human gore (totally boring), immortal characters, craptastic coding
Pros: human(oid) gore, which somehow never gets old for me; the music, the Tranquility Lane, and The Pitt - which somehow managed to feel like proper Fallout
which were the immortal characters (i haven't still finished the main quest) but you can tell meYes.

Almost all people related to a quest :/
And all the kids.
i agree the main quest isnt ,thats why i haven't finished it yet lolThe major problem of this game is there're not much side quests that I have had no motivation to explore the places after finishing all of it, and the main story wasnt really that interesting.

I think VATS was a pretty ingenius way of incorporating RPG elements into a FPS style game. I don't currently have the patience or time for slower paced RPG's and I do like FPS alot. The pacing in F3 was great, the guns are fun, the gameplay is exciting. I don't mind a repetitive environment, it's a nuclear wasteland city and making the environment much different wouldn't feel right.
It's alot more fun to play than other open world FPS like STALKER imo, and it's much less repetitive than that game. It's a fun game to play, but I understand people being disapointed if they expected another Fallout 2 or KOTOR, because Fallout 3 won't satisfy your needs. Well deserved rating imo.
i think yes it is.i really didnt get to play it much, but i just hated the overall theme of the game.the characters looked horrible for me,and the combat system is nothing to remember.i found myself confused pretty easy, but i think for RPG hardcores,it is a masterpiece
Yes. I don''t know what it specifically was about the game, possibly the combat system, but I was bored nearly to tears. I just found it a very boring game.
Oh my, yes! Why?
1. Completely and utterly butchers the Fallout canon
2. Terrible story and, to add insult to injury, it's poorly written (main quest is trite, cliched, and rubbish)
3. Most ridiculous and idiotic ending to a game, ever
4. Very repetitive (cut and paste environments, quests, dialogue, characters etc.)
5. Poorly designed dungeon areas that are fairly pointless and boring (A Bethesda speciality I think)
6. User interface is garbage (FO3's console roots really show here)
7. Quite a few completely useless skills and stats and really and insult to the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system (characters all pretty much generic and indistinguishable)
8. Overly simple game (FO3 is a VERY easy game)
9. A lack of real and meaningful consequences and an overall lack of depth in the game (even blowing up Megaton really doesn't have much of an affect on the game one way or another )
10. Fairly short (although I suppose this is actually a blessing)
Overall, I thought Fallout 3 was a below average action-RPG and an absolutely terrible Fallout game.
I think it's underrated by a lot of people, but I think reviewers do it justice, for the most part, which is unusual. It's the most fun I've had playing a game in a long time. I pre-ordered it before its release and picked it up the day of its release. I've been playing it ever since. I've played many other games since Fallout 3 was released, but I keep going back to Fallout 3. I love doing every single little thing in games I play, but most games have so little content these days.Fallout 1 and 2 were my favourite games when I was younger, so Fallout 3 was a really nice surprise when it was announced.
P.S. If you have played Fallout 1 and 2, there's many things you'll take notice of that will make playing Fallout 3 more fun.
no i dont, gamespot gave it a 9 and i fully agree with that score. theres certainly aspects of the game which you can criticise most of which have been discussed on this forum many times before but, overall, i think the pros far, far outweigh the cons. theres not many other games in the last year or two that ive spent such a long time playing
so you are saying that 9 is justified along with the heavy price tag of the gameno i dont, gamespot gave it a 9 and i fully agree with that score. theres certainly aspects of the game which you can criticise most of which have been discussed on this forum many times before but, overall, i think the pros far, far outweigh the cons. theres not many other games in the last year or two that ive spent such a long time playing

Nope, it is an awesome game with a great story that deserves every bit of praise it gets. Then add all the dlc and its got one hell of a lifetime.
Is it overrated: by certain critics yes definitely. Gamespy labelled it the game of a generation. Please. Is it still a good game? Sure.
I've said this before though: It could have been brilliant but it isn't. Its nowhere near as good as a game like Deus Ex 1.
The RPG stuff is quite disappointing. The skills are poorly balanced. You have very limited options in what you can do. For example you MUST have a particular skill level to hack a security system. Say it requires 50 and you have 49 well no banana. There's no password to find or anything. Thats garbage. There are many other examples of this throughout the game.
The stealth system is rubbish as well and entirely unrewarding. You cant measure stealth in numbers. Thats just crap lol. What difference is stealth 40 to 50? You might as well shoot enemies because you get the experience points for it.
The combat is messy. You find yourself just aiming for headshots most of the time. There really isn't any point in shooting someone in the leg if you can just blow their head off. AI problems, enemies just standing out in the open, instantly seeing the player. Poor stealth again. Not enough hit animations
The main campaign is a bit of a mess. Pretty mediocre storyline, I thought the highlight was the virtual world thing but that felt like it was just chucked in. It didn't really make any sense. Big Liam is wasted.
The final level is deplorable. Way too easy, lousy ending.
A lot of the usual fetch quests. Mind you I played this after 40 hours of The Witcher. Forgive me if it seemed similar.
Visuals: amazing draw distance, dated animations. Wasted Karma system: all the moral implications for that terrible ending.
Also, when will developers that are NOT Valve learn to drop the silent protagonist. I mean c'mon. There are so few developers that do immersion well.
NOTE: Most of this is from my experience of the MAIN CAMPAIGN.
I liked oblivion and I thought it was great, but Fallout just didn't do it for me. Towards the end I felt like I wanted it to be over. I finished it just to say I finished it but didnt have much fun doing it.
I didn't like the scenery. It was depressing. The story seemed shallow.
