Medieval 2 by far, and not only because it has the most content. It also has the most mods and is the most polished. I also like the setting alot.
Rome for me. It was the first and it was amazing for me. In fact, it was my first RTS (either that or Kessen. They were both fun.) and the other two simply couldn't emulate the thrills I got from it. In fact, they didn't really improve on the formula at all, especially not Medieval 2. Empire was a refreshing change to be sure, but I never really stomached it. I want to see how Napoleon turns out. It might be the first TW game I don't buy if it doesn't reimagine something. (excluding shogun and Medieval as they were before my time) Hopefully they'll make the battlefield maps more interesting, especially fort and city battles. This area needs a major overhaul.alittletoohappy
Really? Personally I thought that Medieval 2 did everything that I felt Rome was missing, except naval battles (which CA still hasn't gotten right with empire).
Shogun.
The medieval period is just not that interesting in terms of military history. Very rudimentary tactics and not a lot in the way of innovation, so the first Medieval: TW title was a bit of a bore.
Rome should've been great, but the lack of an AI and Sega's emphasis on twitch play killed it for me. MII and Empire have followed in the same footsteps as Rome. Braindead AI, units that move far too quickly, and very questionable unit values concerning armour, weapon effectiveness, and morale make for ludicrous combat results.
