What CPU socket do you use in your main rig?

I'm stillrunning on my old LGA775, hopefully i'll have enough funds to change that soon.

EDIT: Typo, 1566 should be 1156

775, plan on keeping it for at least a year. I'm getting a new cooler soon, will take it up to 3.6 or 3.8 (if my RAM can handle it).

I have a hybrid AM3/AM2+/AM2 socket. I guess since I'm using the Phenom II 940 I'll vote AM2+/AM2, but I also currently have a 720BE (AM3) in my possession.

I want 2 votes!

I was wondering the same thing. :? Quite an omission.

I'm using AM3. LGA 775 users (especially those who started with a quad-core on that platform) have had so little reason to upgrade. There's nothing that a decent C2Q can't handle. I can't remember another time in history when a person who had a CPU that's already 3.5 to 4 years old could honestly expect another 1 to 1.5 years of good gaming use out of it.

Still LGA775. I'll probably do a system overhaul some time next year but it's a lot to cough up for now.

Just uprgraded from AM2 to AM3 now running a Phenom II X4 955BE at 3.2gig,what a differance in speed compared to my old Phenom II X2 550 which would not unlock its cores/overclock no matter what I tried!!!!.

Rocking a Centrino 2 dual core OC'd to a whopping 2.49 GHz. Looking forward to my first desktop build sometime in the future, where I will hopefully break the 3GHz mark with a Quad core.

*high five* I loved my old Athlon 64 X2 3800+

Now I have an AM3 board with an Athlon II X2 245 slightly overclocked to 3.2Ghz (stock cooling, stock voltage). I'm probably going to upgrade to a 4 or 6 core in a few months :)

Still LGA775 here, and I'll probably end up moving to what comes after LGA2011 since my friend who was considering making the move to Sandy Bridge and offering me the hand-me-downs thought about better cooling for overclocking the i7 960 instead. Probably a wise choice on his part. There's nothing that makes me REALLY want to upgrade from my overclocked Q6600 just yet. I'd probably end up replacing my 8800 GT first, and even that's holding up unusually well.

2 775s and 1 AM3. Can't say anything about ugrades cause money is tight. Will probably milk every ounce of juice from these rigs.
