But doesn't this tell you that it's only ati's drivers that are holding it's performance back in games?

I'd bet in a couple of months the HD2900XT will be able too at least catch up with 8800gtx benchmarks.

LOL, they delayed the card 6months... and now you have to wait a couple more month to have better performance?

I might have to sell my X1900 for the HD 2900. It's served me well, but atm I'm broke and I really want that card lol.

I'll just wait until someone like GeCube make the card (don't like the HIS or Sapphire stickers XD Yes, I'm picky).

It easily beats the 8800 GTS when AA isn't implemented. It only loses when AA is used because of faulty drivers.

It might be a good idea to wait for the 2900 Xt's drivers to clear up, or to game at high resolutions without AA for the time being.

But right now, you'd be a fool to choose the GTS over the XT. Don't forget that you get 4 games (possible 5 if you go with ASUS) with the XT, most notable of them is Half Life 2: Episode 2. All this at the same price too.

But there's no dx 10 games for a few months either,so what's your point?

i didn't found the FX5200 in the opitions:P

so i voted to 8800gts 320mb, as my monitor's max RES is 1280x960, and there is no difference between the 2 8800GTSs at this RES, and it's cheaper...
