Sometimes local stores (no, we don't have best buy, gamestop, ebgames, etc here) and sometimes online (Amazon or danish stores...) It depends on the game. For older games/special editions I'll go online, for other games I'll probably buy them at a local store I never buy used games

From the internets, because no market can contest with web shopping. And if it can, it'll be shown on the net. :)

Usually I'll get my games from EBGames or Bestbuy because I can call around on release day and see who has it first. It's safer that pre-ordering because occasionally one or the other will get their shipments delayed. In the cases of games that get censored in the US I buy the imports from gogamer.com because I disapprove of censorship on general principle. Finally games that are released via Steam, especially valve games, I generally purchase there because of the digital distribution sites it's proven to be far and away the most reliable and bug free.

I voted other because of my hybridized purchasing habits.

If i cant buy/download it online, chances are I probably won't even buy it. I don't even have a cd/dvd-rom installed in my gaming rig right now. hehe

Mostly Amazon. If I can't wait, I harass the local EBGames.

digital download is awesome, as long as you have unlimited bandwidth with your ISP though, games are huge these days, and for people who format frequently..yeah..

also make sure to read the user agreements with DDs. usually they will let you download forever though.

im just too lazy to go and buy stuff at stores, especially since crapholes like ebgames and gamestop do not care for pc gaming.

I buy everything online. Only in some very extrme circumstances do I ever buy from a highstreet shop - only if it's a game I need on day one and am not willing to risk the chance of my internet-bought game not arriving on time.

One of the best things about England is how small the place is. Buy online and you're pretty much guaranteed to get it within 2 days.

All of the above. Usually it depends on how much I want it and how much the mode of delivery is going to cost. Also, how hard it's going to be to find whatever it is I'm looking for locally. I prefer the shortest method to getting the game in my hands. Usually that's locally, but I tend to download a lot of games on Direct 2 Drive or Steam, anymore. For older, harder to find games, it's almost always Amazon.com.

Best Buy is also handy for making sure I can get a copy. It also helps keep me from impulse buying extra stuff while there since I just walk to the customer service counter, pick up my game and leave. It's too bad more stores don't do this.

Steam, Amazon, bought a copy of Freespace 2 off of Ebay, and, especially if the game is just released (usually on sale), the local Fry's Electronics.

I usually prefer to get them online, off ebgames.com/gamestop.com, eBay, or amazon.com. (Generally, EBGameStop is used for pre-ordering Collector's Editions of games-in my most recent case, Crysis-and eBay and Amazon are for games you generally don't find on store shelves any more.) That said, I don't mind buying games off of a brick-and-mortar store; I'll probably end up buying Armed Assault that way, and perhaps IL-2: 1946 as well if I can even find that on a store shelf(no one seems to care about combat flight sims anymore). I've also made digital download service purchases before(generally Steam games, as well as purchasing a full version key for PlanetSide from Direct2Drive a while back), but I prefer having hard copies of games whenever possible. (The only exception for the hard copy rule applies to games that HAVE to be played online, where not having an Internet connection that is required for you to even start up the game isn't a big loss.)

Pretty much I buy my PC games from Best Buy or Walmart. Closest stores that sell PC games. Gamestop/EB Games don't really carry crap where I live when it comes to PC games.

From Amazon.com, Newegg.com or Fred Meyers. There will be a new Best Buy opening soon close to me, I might get them there.
