Today I've tried UT3, TimeShift and CoD4, I kinda liked them all but if you visit their forums here on Gamespot you'll notice like 90% is just complaining and saying how much the games suck..
A while ago everyone were totally crazy about these games and now lots of people seems really disappointed.

so.. Did you like any of them?
Personally I prefered Unreal Tournament 3. TimeShift was pretty cool, I loved how you could freeze the time, disarm the soldier, and watch him beg for mercy while I reload my shotgun slowly.. I also love how the blood goes all over the screen when you stand close to the soldier you're killing.
CoD4 was "ok". Nothing too special about it really... I really wanted to try out the shotgun but I didn't get a chance too. :(

Oh and. I'm pretty happy that my crappy computer acutally managed to run all of these games... TimeShift gave me quite bad fps on the original settings, UT3 too but I lowered the UT3 by one point and it went fine.

Yeah, UT3 Rocks and I'm not sure if there's already these kinds of map but I hope there will be some Capture the Flag maps without vechicles, Loved playing CTF when I was playing Unreal Tournament.

I liked the demos, especially UT3. At first, I really enjoyed the CoD4 demo, it ran smoothly on my pc, and it looked great. But it was very short. I haven't tried the TimeShift demo yet, maybe later on today, I'll download it and give it a try.

I voted for timeshift. The reason being this title is at least somewhat different. UT3 and COD4 are just revamps of their previous titles with better graphics.

I played the CoD4 demo and loved it. I also played the Timeshift demo and it sucked. As for UT3, I could seem to make a profile because of email this and email that or password this and that. Anyways, I gave up and said screw that demo, so I don't know what it was like. Doesn't really matter anyways. I can't buy every game, so I have to be selective, and UT3 got voted out as a game I will not be getting (at least until mid 08 if at all).

How can you like them all if you haven't even tried Timeshift yet? Not that you are missing anything. To me the people that like Timeshift just have a lower standard that they go by compared to me. Timeshift isn't a good enough game to meet my standards.

i'm yet to play the timeshift demo (a little hesitant after the dire demo last year), but i've tried UT3 and CoD4

my take so far:

cod4: exactly like cod2, only in a different setting with weapons which look different, but work in exactly the same way - but this is exactly how the game has been marketed, and this is exactly what most cod2 fans want, if anyone is disappointed by the demo, it's because they had expectations beyond what was advertised, and beyond what was obviously coming... cod4 is a pretty intense shooter... it plays just like cod2, and that's exactly what i wanted - demo was short but sweet, and i'm definitely getting the full game

UT3 - i've never been a fan of UT... a quake 3 man myself, but i tried out the demo and i was impressed... it's fun, it's fast, it's frantic - and it's the most beautiful fps i've ever played... just not what i want in a game... but the demo has three maps and four game modes, which is enough to keep me occupied for a long time.. i'll keep the demo installed, and probably skip the full game

as for timeshift - we got a demo already early in 2006, and i thought the game was extremely mediocre... so i'm very hesitant to even bother trying it again, but the game certainly seems popular around here, so i'm tempted to try it if only to be able to join in discussion on it...

You mean not hyped as much or part of a successful franchise good enough.

CoD4 was just as average as timeshift. UT3 feels exactly the same as previous titles.

UT3 played like UT2k4, it didn't seem like anything much beyond a graphics update to me. I also wasn't a fan of the graphics personally. Oddly, I preferred the 2k4 style more. I'm really looking forward to trying Timeshift, my first download of it was corrupt so I have to try again from another mirror. That game has gone through something like 3 engines and an obscene amount of gameplay changes, so I'm psyched to see something with that much theoretical "polish."

Call of duty 4 i didnt like, because it was just more of the same and i would prefer the good old ww2 setting, modern setting just dont have that special feeling that you had when you fought in the famous battles from ww2.

UT3 was okay, but im gonna pass on this one even though im a huge UT fan and ive played them from ut99. But UT 3 just didnt have that much new, plus it had removed some cool things that ut2004 had like the movement, and when UT2004 still looks fine in graphics then there is no need for UT3, and sadly since sci fi games arent the most popular online and when UT3 is a lot more demanding then UT2004, well i think UT3 isnt gonna have many people playing it online.

Havent tried timeshift yet.

I'm going to go with ...................Crysis. I didn't bother downloading TimeShift or CoD4. Unreal Tournament 3 was nice, but it's impossible to find a decent server. There are maybe one or two dedicated servers, and they have a long wait.

The shotgun is on the side of the blown up car next to the stair case on the bridge. It's called the W2000

People have to understand they are are demos, they are to give a taste of what the game would be.
I was very happy to see all these demos, now cant wait for crysis on the 26th, i hope they dont delay it.....

No, I mean the gameplay isn't good enough. Hype means nothing to me, and a successful franchise means nothing to me. If it did, I would own every Final Fantasy game, and every Tomb Raider. After all, Tomb Raider was great when it first came out. It is all about the gameplay. Let me ask you this. Is Cod4 and UT3 not fun? I couldn't care less if it is like UT2k4 or CoD2 (PC gamer here, so no part 3 for me), as long as it is a good fun solid game. ;)

Thing is that the devs for UT3 (Epic) have said that they wanted to go back to their roots (UT99) and thats why it doesn't "feel" like UT2k4 because its alot more like UT99, which I love. The community aspect has always been my main reason for getting UT games (besides the gameplay of course) and the Single Player is more to love imo. I think you guys need to go over the Epic forums and view (Mark) Rein's posts and see that the development crew are hard at work on fixing issues in the beta.

Well Call of Duty is Call of Duty, nothin new, but still great. UT3 is good looking and could be fun, but I suck at multiplayer FPS. SO I guess ill say timeshift, I think it could be cool or could suck hard, but hope for the best.

Aww, come on. That's a lame reason. :(
You just had to write:
Your name
Your password
Your email and then you just had to log in. :(

and yeah, I found the shotgun but it was in the end of the map so I'm just too lazy to restart, pick it up and try it out. :P

I played cod4, it is great graphics with volume and authentic play, UT3 is looking great, too.
