Portal 2 is available for 35 dollars at best buy right now and there is a reward zone promotion going on that gives you a 10 BB gift card when you buy it, making it about 25 dollars essentially. If you already preordered it on amazon you can submit a price match request at the bottom of the portal 2 page to try to get them to match the price. Just giving a heads up to those who don't necessarily wanna pull the trigger at 45.

Yeah, I saw that, so tempting! I think I'm going to stay with the PS3 (+PC) version with the Amazon promotion though -- I also get taxed at BB but not with Amazon.

Portal 2 is really getting some aggressive pricing, hope to see more of this going forward. I mean, there's a good deal for FEAR 3 ($46.99 + $20 credit + bonus comic book) right now for example, but the deep promotion for that game to move copies might be for an entirely different reason than something like Portal 2 :)

Wow, we really do get screwed over here in Aus. New PC games are $70-90.

Portal 2 is 40 dollars on Steam right now, and includes Portal. If you don't have Portal, it's almost essentially the same deal if you want Portal.

I'm showing $45 for Portal 2 on Steam. Steam is so overpriced.

Portal 2 is also $35 on Amazon. Crysis 2 is still $60 on Steam yet its $38 on amazon, seems like most recent games are more expensive on Steam.

I dont care what the cause is of Steam being overpriced. Fallout NV $30 on Amazon, $50 on Steam, Black Ops is $38 on Amazon and $60 on Steam. Bioshock 2 is $10 on Amazon and $20 on Steam. So thats 4 other publishers.

I rememeber when Valve first announced Steam, they said games would be chaeper since theyre cutting out the middleman. Theyre so full of it and certainly not the saints some seem to think they are.

I remember the ATI 9600 sales push for HL 2's bs September 30 2003 launch. I feel sorry for all the suckers who beleived Valve and bought a dx9 card that couldnt play HL 2 in DX 9.

Amazon has reprice portal 2 to $35 to match bestbuy's price. Bestbuy has the store pickup option while amazon has free shipping. Decisions decisions.

So glad I didn't pull the trigger on a pre-order yet. Question though: If I buy the game off Amazon can I download it using their DD service or do I have to have the actual disc shipped to me?

Pre-ordered from Amazon today before I saw this.. boo boo. I guess if I submit the price match to Amazon and they change it to the new price (I'm talking 360 version which is 10 bucks cheaper on BB than Amazon) then I will only be charged that new price right?

Its gonna be under $20 by the end of the year so I think I can wait. I wouldn't be surprised if it shows up next holiday sale for $10.

That's what I'm doing as well. It will definitely come down in price during one of the steam sales.

I think I'll do that as well. Summer Sale, it should be $35 or less again.
