wow it didnt felt like i had played the game. I would never have payed 15 euro for this game.

Yeah it's relatively short. Who cares, it was free to you. It came in my Orange Box which I bought for $10 back in the day, I was more than happy to have a little something extra to play.wow it didnt felt like i had played the game. I would never have payed 15 euro for this game.

Valve did something nice and you're complaining the game's too short. It's a good thing you didn't pay anything cause I'd hate to be you if you bought the game.
People tend to get so upset whenever you mention a game they love, and you don't mention it like its shining in the glory of God(s).
It was a short game, it was ok, nothing all that special for me. Though I play many games. Not saying it was bad, just it was decent, and it over-rated IMO.
Now people are gonna quote me, and say portal is the best thing since "the sun." But hey decent deal for Orange box, awesome for free, but $15 dollars for it would have been LOL.
There is much more play time if you play the advance and challenge levels. They will really test you as it requires a you to use the least amount of portals and stuff like that.
There is more than enough content in the game if you do the challenges on top of the single player.
Better spending money towards something innovative, than something with the same old formula and a new coat of paint.
But no, more Call of Duty. Can't get enough of that conveyor belt tripe.
I agree that Portal was short, but keep in mind that it was originally bundled with the Orange Box and that, as someone already posted, was first released as a proof of concept as opposed to a full title. If you feel that you didn't get enough out of it, either play through some of the challenges or download some mods for it.
Correction: Portal = best game ever.harry_james_potNo. Honestly, as much as I loathe the word and try to use it as less as possible, I think Portal is incredibly overrated. No it's Innovative Fps
It is a puzzle game, if somebody wants to say it's first person something then consider it a first person adventure game. Pft...innovative FPS...people these days.Is a shooter? I didn't play the game, but as long as I saw is more like a puzzle.

agreed, sure it has a gravity-like weapon thingy.. but It is more of a First person perspective (rat through a maze with the cheese (cake) waiting at the end) game, shooter doesn't really describe it. Though some of the challenges were fun, I really hope portal 2 will have much more complex scenarios.
The cake is a lie!
No, seriously, it was fun for the under-three-hours it took me to beat it; but I'd have been rather pissed if I'd paid $29.99 for it! However, for free? Totally worth it!
It took me 2 hours to complete the story. But there are challanges and advance maps too, they're the real game. Plus... STILL ALIVE!
Correction: Portal = best game ever.harry_james_potIf Serious Sam never came out, I would agree fully with this post. :P I do agree that Portal is very short. It took me a while on my first playthrough, but it got easier each time I re-played it. Its still one hell of a game.
Portal is not my most cherished game, but my lord the game is free for the time being, why do you feel the need to complain.millerlight89People pirate games all the time and complain about them, they were free, why is this game any different?

We are not talking about pirating a game. It is obvious that people who steal have no morals. The game is generously given to us for free, yet some still feel that it is their job to complain.
I hope everyone realize that this game was initially sold as part of the bundle with the Orange Box. It was only sold separately after all the praise it got. So it was never a full game to begin with.
It was actually what kept me from regretting my purchase of the Orange Box. I didn't like any of the HL2 games. TF2 was ok.
Even though it's short it's still one of the best games I've played. I like it more than any of the other Valve games.

Morals, lol thats a funny topic really.
Yes, it's short. But it's also flipping brilliant and well worth buying The Orange Box for.
I've played it through countless times and every time I've enjoyed it. Simply amazing.
And you got it for free, so stop moaning.
Well considering how overrun this board is with people who do nothing but complain, it gets tedious.I don't see what's wrong with complaining about a free thing. Or is the lack of price magically hiding every fault of the product?

[QUOTE="bulletsword"]You do realize that there are games worth $50-$60 that are much, MUCH shorter than Portal is, right?Pvt_r3dI can't think of any. Wasn't Rouge Warrior $50 at launch? That was around 2 hours long, which, from my playtime (first time), is shorter than Portal was.

Rogue Warrior. According to GS, it's about 2 hours long. Even if the game was good, there's no excuse for selling a game that short for $60. I haven't played Portal in a while, so maybe it's an exaggerration, but I'm pretty sure Portal at least topped 3-4 hours for me.
