Got a build here that I will be getting in Oct/Nov the only thing that will change in it will probably be the GPU either to the 5870x2 or if Nvidias new cards are out and they're not priced crazy high but most likely will be....

SilverStone Raven 2 Full tower case the space is going to be great! Had a ThermalTake M9 with my GTX280 it was crowded

MSI-790fx MoBo

XFX radeon 5870

KingWing Mach-1 1000watt PSU please dont comment on how this is a over kill :) lots of people have 1000 watt psu's

AMD Phenom 2 x4 955 Deneb Black edition

4gb G.Skill RipJaw DDR3 1600mhz ram

LG w2353v-pf 1080p 23" kick butt monitor

simple sony cd-dvd drive

and a scythe kitana 3 cpu cooler... Kinda worried it might be to big and get in the way of my ram tho. Never worked with a larger cooler before.

total cost $1,558.56 and it will be a nice addition to my new home :) thank you guy for reading and commenting. any suggestions will be fine on this build, but I really dont want to hear anything about an over kill or im spending way too much.

Nvidia's launch cards for a new series are usually priced very high... $600 or more.

Also, how about you ask for suggestions when the times comes to actually buy it. Then we could give your suggestions on technology then, not technology of today for tomorrow....

I figured not much is going to change in a month or 2 plus the stuff ive selected will be pretty good for quite some time. was wondering more about the cpu cooler really.. never worked with a beasty one like that. my old build had a asetek liquid cooler, but the only big part about it was the radiator..... plus those things suck. I wouldnt recommend one of those to anyone

Needs a better case, Im having trouble picking one myself so Im no help but spend atleast 100USD on a case with good airflow your spending alot on the insides so dont throw it into any piece of junk it can fit in. It would be a shame if you didn't overclock that i5 so Im assuming your going to do that and a better airflow would help.

Except peripherals which I have no time to look at right now, everything is great.

Hi If you want to install the Katana 3 you should have no

problem as it is a 92mm fan. The Scythe Mugen 2 is a better

choice however should you choose to do a higher overclock.

Don't forget since you are going to use 2 sticks of ram you

could install them in channels 2 and 4 rather than 1 and 3.

This would give you a little extra room if you needed it.
