Dear bad guys with a bounty. Hire bodyguards that know how to aim a gun. And this prey game seems pretty far off from the first.
I never played much of the first game, but I did play it and I don't remember anything like this in it. For those who beat Prey 1, did the first game's plot ever change to where a human bounty hunter on an alien world would make sense in the context of the franchise?gameguy6700I think the plot was explained as, you were on the ship, you're not the same guy, but you're a bounty hunter now, and you are trying to uncover your past, 'bout what happened on that ship...

Looks so wonderful, but until games look like those cinematics, I don't really give a crap about them, would rather have seen some proper gameplay..
The setting seems like a cool idea, the first game didn't look all that interesting to me, from what I've seen.

Yes, it's a different character on another planet. The character from the first game makes cameos throughout the story though. I personally love the direction they have taken and from that soundtrack on that trailer, I think it will FEEL the same as Prey1..... western cowboy in space. Is this going to be a linear FPS or will it be more like an open world FPS/RPG? Because that's how the trailer made it look.PernicioEnigmaThat doesn't make any sense, which one did the trailer make it look like to you, unless it looked linear and open and non rpg and rpg at the same time.
I think I read somewhere that it's kinda gta'ish in how handles missions/story, or something like that. That or, what ever I read said something about killing civilians and the police coming after you, like in gta, and I just extended that to how the game plays...

It's the same universe. It doesn't have to be a direct sequel to be part of the franchise. I don't get why people don't understand this simple concept. Anyway, the trailer is ****ing awesome. One of the best I've seen. I'm also a big fan of the first Prey. I think it's underrated.

My bad, What I was trying to say was the trailer made it look like it could be an open world game, and if whatever you read was true then I guess it will be.I never played much of the first game, but I did play it and I don't remember anything like this in it. For those who beat Prey 1, did the first game's plot ever change to where a human bounty hunter on an alien world would make sense in the context of the franchise?gameguy6700As someone who loved the game, Prey is a linear puzzle fps with portals, reversed gravity and alot of organic weapons and enemies that feel like they came out of doom/ quake with an Indian characte who can leave his body in a spirt form. Story is good. Now how the hell the sequel is a futuristic sci fi open world game with missions and a generic grunt that shoots typical aliens from diffirent planters is beyond me. Also trailer reminds me of assasin creed with mirrors edge. I cant say much on a pre rendered trailer with shaky camera and blur, even at hd quality the video was blurry.

No, the reason I was confused was because in the original it seemed like the aliens were just kidnapping and mass murdering people. Doesn't exactly seem like the kind of aliens who would then hire a human as a bounty hunter to go around killing other aliens on their home planet.[QUOTE="gameguy6700"]I never played much of the first game, but I did play it and I don't remember anything like this in it. I dunno, that seems a little pricey to make a whole new language for an alien species, sure it would give it an authentic feel, but... yea.Am I the only one who found it absolutely weird to listen to that alien talk in english? :|
dinuattila
I don't mind playing games in their native language, but if it's some alien, and they're speaking some ficticious language, and they look like they can make the correct sounds, then I'd just rather they speak in English.
[QUOTE="macronia"]is it coming to pc ? cuz @ the end of the trailer doesn't include , may be a mistake hope i see some in game footage , it has nice ideas InconsistancyYes it is coming to pc, I wonder.. has any idTech4 game not come to pc?No, I don't belive there was any id Tech 4 game that didn't come out on PC.

This is set in a complete different universe but I'm sure we will find out a connection with the story from the first (remember the main part 1 character makes cameos)[QUOTE="gameguy6700"]I never played much of the first game, but I did play it and I don't remember anything like this in it. This new character is taken away by the same aliens as Prey 1 (look at the real life trailer). Difference is that it takes place on another planet instead of the ship like the first one... (tTommy from part 1 makes cameos through this game)how does this exactly relate to prey?

The ones in this trailer probably aren't the same Prey 2 takes place in another galaxy so there are lots of different alien races I'm sure we will find out why some race invaded Earth... Im guessing maybe Tommy appears in the form of a spirit or something...or as flashbacksDear bad guys with a bounty. Hire bodyguards that know how to aim a gun. ferret-gamer
it is incredibly far from the first, by design. Its an open-world FPS, not a linear scifi-horror.
With that said, this game sounded amazing based on initial previews, and this CGI clip really has sold me on the game. I love the atmosphere, its like Star Wars meets film noir. I hope the plot and immersion is as good as the first.
This game has the ability to really be an innovator for the genre.
I enjoyed the first game a lot. I'm looking forward to see how this new direction pans out.
StrawberryHill
it just sounds...idunno...FUN!
:D
I think the art direction is going to be really cool, too, and the alien creatures thus far look great and unique. I hope they keep some of the more animalistic ones they had in Prey 1 in there.
