I decided to buy the the ryzen 5 1600 and I'll go with a b350 motherboard which fits my budget rather than a x370 .

I was batting an eye on the gigabyte AB350-Gaming 3 , and the msi b350 tomahawk board.

Which one is better and will have better ram compatibility ?

how about EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC GAMING?

Suggest me , i'm counting on y'll , cheers !

I love gigabyte mobos, I’ve never had one fail, ever. Msi is good also I’ve had a few msi boards and have no complaints. Can’t say which board will support your needs more but as long they support your ram speeds you will be good to go.

As for the 1600, be sure that’s what you want because intel will give you better performance. I know Ryzen has bang for buck on lock but you have to ask yourself also if you’re going to regret buying it when you see intel chips paired with the same gpu getting better performance in games. Ryzen mobo will be good until 2020 so you have the option to upgrade CPUs in between now and then, but if you went with something like an 7700k, 8600 or 8700k you won’t have to upgrade before 2020.

And lastly any version of the 1070 is gonna be a good gpu, I usually just try to find one that matches the color of my case and mobo.

Is a 6800K still worth it? Going cheap around here.

Between the 2 boards: MSI Tomahawk. But my recommendation would be Asus B350 F-Gaming. It's the only B350 board that I know of that has 6 phase VRM (6 phases for CPU+2 for RAM). Not important if you won't overclock, and even if you do it's not a huge deal, but why settle for less. Make sure you get a memory that can run at 3.2GHz. The link below should be a good guide.

That is what I have. I feel like I bought this right before the announcement of the huge CPU year we are having. I will be building a Threadripper 1950x build sometime soon with dual 1080 Tis or waiting until next GPU launch, but just not ready to drop about 7-8k on the build that I want across from my current with custom water looping.

Actually just settled for a i5 8400, just bought the tiniest M-ITX case, overclocking isn't going to be needed.

You building a time machine?

My friend's AB350-Gaming 3 won't run his 2667 ram except at 2400, even though it was on the compatibility list. I hadn't bought my mb yet, so I might be going MSI instead now.

I literally just built a gaming only mini-itx machine for just under $1500. You can go with a Ryzen 7 and a 1080 if you wanted to. I even got the silly rgb RAM and only ssd drives. $1500 is a pretty good budget for a PC, even with RAM and GPU prices beings as dumb as they are right now. I have a $1500 rig that isn't too far off from my $3,000 rig in my office. Craziness

To my disappointment I have not been able to get the RAM to work at 2933 with both RAM sticks plugged into the AB350-Gaming 3 mobo in dual channel mode.

Well, I actually tried leaving only one stick in a couple days ago and that didn't help me to get 2933 out of it.

From my research, the MSI Tomahawk has better VRM, but also long post time.

BTW, 1080 is good choose if you want.

But hey, that's just one guy's opinion.

I would definitely update the Bios if you haven't. A lot of bios updates are for speed and Ram compatibility.
