Hey guys.

Firstly, I'm wondering if you guys have any insight as to the best time to buy a video card right now. I really want to get a 8800 gt right now but I feel like newegg might cut prices come new years day/eve.

I also want to know this because I'm wondering if a 8800gt, X2 3800 @2.6ghz, 2 gb DDR500, will run at medium to high settings in Crysis at 1900x1200.

Thanks for answering, know you get this a lot

Would the easiest option be to switch out the cpu for a better one in combination with the 8800 gt?

Just ratchet down the resolution a bit. It will still look awesome and be playable. You may want to save your cash for a new mobo, cpu, and ram if you are running a socket 939 board.
