Well I bought the game today and have just installed it. However when I go to run it the screen goes black and tries to load but then it just comes up with an error saying an error has occured and KOTOR2 needs to close. Is it becaus emy specs aren't good enough ir is there another possible reason?

My specs:

Intel Celeron 3.32 ghz

VIA/ s3g unichrome

512 mb ram

Thanks for any assistance.

Probably your vid card. It's made for office use so I doubt it has any of the required renderer features. A cheap 6600 will be a whole lot better than that one.

Yeah, I think it's your video card.  You may need to get a new one.

I thought that might be the problem. It's a shame though because it runs other games fine. I even bought Tomb Raider Legend today aswell and i can run that fine with setiings turned down. Oh well thanks for the help. Any idea how much the 6600 cost in britain by the way?

Now you don't have to purchase a 6600. You can get something better too. But if you wanna save some cash, I suggest you wait till march before buying a new vid card. That's when the new low-priced dx10 card come out, and it will make all dx9 cards a lot cheaper. The fastest of the low-priced dx10 cards will cost $179-$220. And the cheapest will cost around $80, so it's up to you really. But if I were you I'd wait a month or so just to see the prices drop.

Yeah I guess waiting would be the smart thing to do although i'm on a tight budget anyway but it will be worth the wait. Are there any other cheap cards you can recommend. By cheap i mean £60 max.

I think you can get a 6600 for that, if not cheaper. Just look for refence makers like inno3d, Galaxy etc. MSI also has a very cheap 6600. But if you need an AGP card they'll probably be a little bit more expensive since it's old tech.

At least you can install it, my copy of both Kotor 1 and 2 have large scratches around the cd, making it so the game wont install properly.
