Hello. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I've got a 5.1 speaker setup. Whenever I play mp3s, its played only over the front speakers. Is there any software that I can download so that the stereo signal is played over each speaker pair and also the centre speaker?

Thanks in advance.

open the "playback devices" from your taskbar audio option(windows one). go to the properties of your speakers from there, then click the enhancements tab, from there, click the speaker fill option. you're all set to go.

Thanks for your reply. But there's no enhancement tab in the speaker properties. I'm using Creative Soundblaster Audigy Value sound card and Creatibe Inspire 5200 speakers. Is the enhancement option only available with high-end sound cards and speakers? If so, is there any other way by which I can get the desired result? In Windows XP, I used to do this with the Creative EAX console, but that software doesn't work in Windows Vista. So is there any other software that helps me achieve this?

1. have you tried, in speaker options, selecting the 5.1 setup. it may be set for only 2 and you need to change it.

2. i dled new vista drivers for my sound card and it pretty much cleared any sound inconsistencies in vista, up.

But I'm getting only 4 tabs, instead of the 5 in your case. The enhancemants tab isn't there. And I've also selected the 5.1 option, but I'm not getting the desired result.

Yeah, I've manually installed the drivers because Windows didn't have inbuilt drivers. I have a Creative Soundblaster Audigy Value soundcard. Its quite a low-end soundcard.

I've installed the drivers, but the EAX console isn't available for Windows Vista. Is there any other software for this purpose?Â
