Sorry, if I'm a newbie regarding this and I have insufficient knowledge. I bought this (actually my mom did), so after buying I plugged the base subwoofer jock on the green hole at the back of the desktop computer, connected the 220v base subwoofer plug to the avr, then plugged the 2 small speaker jacks on the back of the square base. (which has only 1 plug on the back) (sorry if I'm making wrong terms, I hope you understand) So its working and all, there is sound input but there is one problem. In the subwoofer's speaker there is sound output, but only one of the 2 small speakers has sound. So all in all 2 out of 3 speakers work. I tried removing the 2 small speakers and replaced them with a headset. There is still sound in the subwoofer's speaker, but in my headset also one speaker only works, the left side. the right side doesn't work.(My headset was working both sides on psp's, a pc, and a ipod) So my question is this. Is that normal for the speaker and subwoofer? The supposed input on the other small speaker is replaced by the subwoofer? Is this right? I need help. Thank you very much for reading, and understanding my post. I hope I provided enough details and I hope my post doesn't confuse you. Thanks again!

PS. I've also posted this in other sites, but no one's responding yet, so I decided to post in at least 3 sites.

When asking to solve a problem, Heatsinkhole, at least tell us what speakerset you are talking about and what soundcard you have ;)

Congratulations you've divided by zero! Give us the make a nd model number of what ever you're talking about as so far all i can determine is that there's some kind of speaker issue.

All i can see from your post is that somehow you plugged a mains cord into an AVR and managed to place 2 jacks into one socket. Perhaps a diagram would be a better direction... Manufacturer's site: http://www.shockwave.com.cn/?action-viewnews-itemid-300

the 2 little speakers has only one jack, so i plugged that into the subwoofer, while the subwoofers plugged into the audio jack of my desktop. I have followed everything that's on the instruction sheet, though it is not indicated there that it is normal if the other speaker has no sound since the subwoofer is producing sound.

Well, since there's only 4 cables involved, it shouldn't be that hard to connect everything right, heatsinkhole. Since the cables are color coded, just stick the colored jacks in their same colored holes of either the motherboards sound outlet or that of your soundcard.

And the mains goes in the wall socket, just to make sure...

I have been able to find next to no information on these speakers, which makes it difficult to help you... What cables, if any, come out of the subwoofer and CAN'T be removed/unplugged?

Ah, I see. I think you'll have to switch holes on the back of your PC. So, again, what's the make of your souncard/motherboard?

my mobo is an ASUS P5KPL-AM SE, I don't have any sound card. What do you mean switch holes? it's meant to be plugged on the green one right? the pinks for mics. @ all thanks for extending your help.

And you have the audio cable going to a green input? (don't know if it would work at all if it wasn't, though). Do the two satellites use the one audio cable? Have you got that plugged into the back of the sub?

Try to plug it and unplug it 5 times. If it don't work try the speakers on other PCs, even MP3 players to assure if its the speaker or the sound driver that got the problem.

Do you have an audio output on the front of your PC? If so, try it.

Upon checking the box I found out a page 2 of the manual and there's a User Knowledge. it says that 3. Keep proper distance from the wall or other articles 4.It is normal only one satellite is working when using single track audio source.? - what does this mean? For every pc we've bought I've always used the free speakers that come in the package and allways both speakers work. This is the first time I used a different spekaer

Mainboard outlets have either 3 or 6 holes. in this case there's 6. two of those are green (dark and bright). 4 of the 6 holes are for separate surround speakers (including the gree), one (the black) is for main stereo speakers and one (the pink) is for a microphone. So, plug the speakers into the black outlet on the mobo and see what happens.

Btw, if the set explodes, I have never spoken with you...

This may mean mono channel audio only goes to one speaker instead of two, which is a bit cheap...

Point four means that the jack is a stereo jack (since there's two speakers attached) but the green outlet on the mobo is for ONE speaker only... Use the black hole on the mobo.

Or build a bonfire with the speakers and buy a decent set.

Test the rear green jack using your headset. It sounds like the rear jack is the problem, this will confirm. When confirmed plug the speakers into another jack then ramap the port trhough your sound drivers (usually there's a pop-up that will ask what you inserted).

Okay. I thought the P5K had six (mine had anyway --a P5KE Wifi). if neither the blue nor the light green give stereo, then you either cut off the one jack and solder a jack on each cable, or you return the speakers and buy a decent set.

That they are remappable is because of the software you installed. Surround outlets are for individual speakers, thus using only one channel. Plug in a stereo jack with two speakers attached to it and only one will work, because the second contact on the plug doesn't touch anything.

Okay. leave the plug in the blue hole and search your computer for your sound settings (start/Control Panel/Sound) and see that you set your speakers to 2.1. Then check the volume.

When you go to 'sound' there should be a menu showing you which device is being used. When you single click the device in the menu, at the bottom right, 'properties' should become clickable.

Click 'properties' and a new menu will pop up. In that screen, click on the 'advanced' tab. there you should be able to set the type of speakers you have.

By the way. I saw that you used the satellite speakers on a PS2 and they worked. Did you try the same with your PC? I mean, instead of plugging the speakers to the subwoofer and that subwoofer to the PC, just plug the satellite speakers directly into the computer's green outlet. After all, it could be that there's something wrong with the subwoofer...

I plugged it on my psp. that's what i did i pluged the speakers directly and both have sounds but very very weak sounds. So I suppose the conclusion of this is that the subwoofer itself is in good condition but since its China-made then it only outputs on one speaker. am i rite?

When just plugging the satellites directly into something, the sound will be weak as they are not being powered by an amplifier. It sounds like there is something wrong with the sub.

Well, if the speakers both work when NOT plugged to the subwoofer, bot don't work when plugged to it, that means that the subwoofer's amplifier is malfunctioning. Made in China or not.

But none of your three outlets is a 'single track (channel) outlet'. You only have those on a six hole outlet (although i found a manual of your motherboard which does have six audio outlets).

The green (sometimes black) outlet on a mobo/soundcard is a multichannel outlet, so the speakers with subwoofer should work.

Have you tried connecting the two speakers ONLY, directly to the mobo? If so, what's the result?

That they are remappable is because of the software you installed. Surround outlets are for individual speakers, thus using only one channel. Plug in a stereo jack with two speakers attached to it and only one will work, because the second contact on the plug doesn't touch anything.

That only stands if they have one pole jacks. His PC uses ALC662 audio which is 6 channel audio, his mobo has 3 jack sockets theefore all sockets are 2 pole jacks.

You can pass a one channel track through a 2 pole jack just as easily as a mono-pole. @TC Have you tested the rear green jack directly with your headphones yet?

Sure Mark, but you'll obviously only have one track sound, heh... plus that a one channel hole doesn't have the contact for the jack's second channel, so as a result there's only one speaker giving sound. But that doesn't matter any longer...

I'm gonna repose (more or less) the same question: do you have tried jacking just the two speakers to the mobo?

Okay. Thanks heatsinkhole. That means that the subwoofers amplification is bust. if the set is new, you're going to have to return them to where you bought them. And preferably, get another, more reliable brand. I know that sometimes we have to do things on a small budget, but there's limits...

No preblemo, amigo. Just a pity you have to go through all the trouble. But it'll come good in the end. You'll see ;)
