Okay, here is the thing. When I play Rainbow Six Vegas and I walk forward, my character keeps walking (even though I let go of the W key). Also, he shoots fine when he hasent taken cover, but as soon as he takes cover, when I peek over the corner to shoot, he doesnt shoot, I have to hold the mouse button down for like 10 seconds before he finally shoots, and when he does shoot, he doesnt stop until he runs out of ammo. Now I dont know whats going on, so any help would be great. I mean its not lag, its totally different, I just cant figure it out. I've switched keyboards and mouse, but it didnt help.

Also, this happens in STALKER. The guy keeps walking a few steps even though I let go of the walk button. Thats all I have seen in STALKER as I havent played it much. Please help me figure this out, please.

The symptoms you describe here look to most certainly be lag. Don't be mistaken, I'm not talking about multiplayer-type lag, but the kind of lag that tells you to get a better computer. I experienced this in a number of games, and the next step would have been stuttering and framerate drops, so I got an all-round better machine.

The reason I say its not lag is because it wasnt doing this a week ago. I do need a new CPU, I ordered a 4400 X2, to replace my 3000(which is way out of date), but other then that, I have 2 gigs ram, BFG 7900 GTX OC, and plenty of HDD space.

Try turning down some of the graphical settings and see if that helps.  It sounds like your maching is getting a little over-loaded despite the 2 gig of ram.  Try shutting down some processes that may be running in the background as well.  That usually speeds things up pretty well.

You wouldn't be sephiroth228 as well would you?

What changes were made to the computer in the last week?

You could go into system restore and select a restore point that was made before you started getting these problems.

Also, scan for all types of malware.

Do you have USB keyboard/mouse? Do you also have a USB joystick and the like? Try pulling out all of the un-needed peripherals from your computer the next time you try.

If you have a wireless keyboard try replacing the batteries . They could be dead . It happens to me when Batteries are low .
