Processor doubt, Intel dual core 2.2 (plz help a processor noob)

I have an intel 2.2 dual core processor. Can u tell me if this is right? Its a 2.2 duo so it acts like a 4.4 sigle core right?

No it doesn't work like that.

It is just two cores at 2.2GHz.
