Hello. I will get a new PC soon but I want to know what is the best processor to play games. A friend told me that a Dual Core it is ok but my uncle said that the AMD processors are better. Can anyone tell me?.

Intel processors are better, being Duals or Quads.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 or if you want to go top of tree AMD Phenom Quad Core (make sure its a true Quad and not the X3 though)

But mostly boils down to personal opinion.

Some prefer Intel some prefer AMD like me, Intel more expensive though

AMD Athlon 64 X2 or if you want to go top of tree AMD Phenom Quad Core (make sure its a true Quad and not the X3 though)amd phenoms arent that good for gaming, and if you have a good enoughgraphics card, it will be bottlenecked by all amd processors

But mostly boils down to personal opinion.

Well quick update, altho I really am a big fan of AMD's I have too discovered the Intel Core 2 Duo is about the best cpu around at the mo and I will too be joining in with most others and getting 1, but if your really wanting an AMD, make sure it an Athlon X2 5600+, 6000+ or 6400, some fine phenoms good some dont think they only perform well with certain componants.

But at the moment AMD are cheap and cheerfull (used to beat Intel hands down when I bought my current machine
