Hello, my problem is really strange: When the splash-screen of the game appears, I select "INSTALL". The windows installer pop-ups and says "Prepairing to Install", and as soon as the progressbar of the windows installer finishes, another window pops-up saying "Do you really want to uninstall the game etc etc..?" So, I can't install the game because it appears to be already installed [it's not, but it appears that way]. And when I try to install it,it wants to uninstall it.. Also, when I go to Add/Remove programs in my control panel, this appears: [Prototype(tm) without its size] Oh and, if I try to remove it, an error ":1158" appears.. Add/Remove Programs: http://i27.tinypic.com/2lljzad.jpg I am really confused, and I don't know what to do!! I really wanna start playing. Please help, and thank you very much in advance, Chris.

Hola Chris,

just delete the game from the registry and then install it again. Press the Windows Key + R, in the open space type "regedit" and press ok, next press Edit, Find, In the Find Box type in Prototype and press Find Next. Then just delete the Registry Entries..

When it says uninstall the game , see what happens when you uninstall it ... if things look good, try installing it after that again otherwise follow the registry delete advice above

It's Windows XP SP3 updated yesterday. And the video card and cpu fits, it's good enough. [quote="rrhrle6"]Hola Chris, just delete the game from the registry and then install it again. I did search for prototype in the registry and wanted to delete them, but a lot of regisity entries appeared and I was scared they were not from the game.. Are you sure I should delete them? PS: do you speak spanish?

When I delete it in the Add/Remove programs an error 1158 pops-up. When I "delete" it when trying to install it (what I explained in my first post), nothing happens.

Use Revo Uninstaller to make sure there is no trace of it on your pc, maybe use CCleaner as well to be sure, then install

Hey, ok I'm installing Revo now. Regarding CCleaner, isn't that for Temp. files and registry? (you mean I should run a registry cleanup?) I use CCleaner but to delete temp. files and yes, clean the registry. So hopefully you mean that. Trying Revo Uninstaller right now, I'll let you know about anything new. Thanks!
