I saw a review that praised the game,but I have doubts that it's a lousy button-smashing port.Any opinions would be appreciated:D

It is fun to just mess around, although you feel to powerful and nothing is much of a challenge. If you are gonna get it, which i suggest saving your money for all the games coming out this fall, get it on a console, not the PC. I think it would be really hard to play it on the PC.
Cheers!
you're probably playing it on "easy",try something harder :) anyway,i love the game,i think it's worth gettingIt is fun to just mess around, although you feel to powerful and nothing is much of a challenge. I had fun. What you use to play might change the experience a bit, I didn't really like playing with keyboard and mouse.
It's good fun with easy controls, but not really worth $50 or whatever it is at the moment. I'd definately try it, but wait for the price to drop.
Man I have one word for you BUY IT it's Awsome I'm playing it right now (( with the 360 Controller )) but my friend is playing the game with keyboard and mouse and he says it's working fine and the Mapping is great the game is nice but whrn it too crowded it become slowerDark_prince123For someone who has only played 1 hour of Prototype, you certainly know lots about it... It's a great game, graphics are not that impressive, but gore = fun, but combos might be hard to remember, you'll end up only knowing a few of them..
It's a great game....at first. Initially the sense of freedom is excellent, you can run up anything, glide off skyscrapers, hurl taxis at helicopters, slash people in half, all done with liberal splashings of blood and gore. After a while though you begin to get fed up with the sometimes awkward camera and the difficulties it has when you need some fine control of your character. I'm quite a way through it and I've had to take a break as it was getting to be a grind. There is also no multiplayer so the replay value may be limited.
basically the same engine as that of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. if you've played SM:WoS, you've seen everything "cool"in Prototype (building climbing, super jump, transforming, throwing massive objects and etc.). graphic is also as poor based on PC game standard. (now if they don't really do anything special to game-play, at very least upgrade the graphic).
I got it for the PC, but I'm running Vista-64.
It ran wonderfully, the only problem being low volume, but that problem actually disappeared later on.
No crashes, framerate stays solid no matter how much activity is on the streets. Even full-blown combat doesn't slow it down.
People with XP are experiencing a lot of problems with the game, however.
As long as you set your graphics card to "application-controlled" for all settings, you won't experience any problems other than sound being low, which is fixed by turning up your volume before you boot the game.
Dont go into this game expecting much of a story, it'll ruin your fun. I tried, story barely holds, ending sucked. If you're going for a gore-filled slaughterhouse of fun, have at 'er. It's a good game, and can be quite challengining on harder difficulties.
I'm running it on windows 7, runs perfectly fine, never had an error, any slowdown nor any problem with movies or sound.
