I just bought a component cable for my PS2 but when I attached it to my HDTV, there is no picture but I can hear the sound. I'm just wondering if there are any compatibility issues with my tv and the cable or is the cable just totally busted, if so, can you suggest a good brand of PS2 component cable.

This question may had been asked before, but any comments would be appreciated.

What was the solution? I just got component cables and I'm having the same problem.

The hardware: PS2, Sony Component cables, Samsung 32" LCD, Final Fantasy 12

I can run component cables from DVD to TV with no problem.  I switch out the cables with the PS2 cables, and get a "mode not supported" or "wrong mode" or something similar (can't remember the exact error).  Is there a different setting on the actual PS2 that needs to be adjusted?

The only thing that I've done is go to the system configuration of the PS2 and change the (I think) the video out from RGB to YbCb or something similar (theres only 2 options anyway). After you changed that, turn off your console and replace the PS2 cable to component cable and hopefully it will work. Sorry it took me a while to reply. Been busy playing FF 12.
