Ok, right now in order to get a good graphics card that will last a while, i need to upgrade my psu, and also interesting in getting a fan of some short. I was hoping someone could recommend a good psu, and cooling system(fan, or heatsink idk) that would fit my computer. I have a limit 200, but I'm willing to go at the max 300 in all.

Here are my system specs(idk if you need them all)

Dell Dimension E510(System Model says DM051)

Intel(R)

Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80 GHz

2.79 GHz, 2.00 GB of Ram

BIOS: Phonenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A05

thanks if you can help

The CPU will most likely bottleneck the GPU. If you're going to buy a single video card (that is, not a SLI/CrossFire setup nor a X2 model), a 550W PSU should be more than enough.

How many fans does your case currently have? Does it have room for more? I'd recommend having at least 3 (that is, on in the back and two on the side).

My old dell had serious cooling issues when I added in my 8800GTS a couple of months ago. It would often spike at 86C inside!

I would say forget upgrading just yet, and possibly save up around 700-800 to build a new computer entirely. You could obviously keep the monitor and etc if you arent planning on using it as a secondary PC, but it will take around 200$ out of your future budget :/

Thing is, its not really my computer, and if i save up to build a new comp, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY no where to put it. Thats why i honestly just want to fix this one up. I think the computer only has one fan, i havent taken it apart yet so really right now i can only upgrade, buying a new comp just isnt an option
