I swapped out my PSU in my PC recently and upgraded my GPU... the gpu requires 2 x 6 pin pwr cords.... now there are 2 x 6 pin pwr adapters coming from my PSU.... but.... they are both on the same cable coming from the PSU... what is the point of this?

To me it seems that the GPU would not get enough power since the both 6 pins are on the same wires coming from PSU... am I wrong? thx in advance for any insight.... should I use an adapter using 2 x 4 pins leading to a single 6 pin for the other?

It doesn't matter how many watts you have, if you have a cheap 900watt power supply, and it doesn't provide enough power on the 12v rails, its useless.

Anyway @TC, the other cables are for a SLI setup, or crossfire, or for other PCI-E cards.

you mean the adapter? or the 2nd 6 pin plug that extends from the other 6 pin (sharing the same wires)?

You can use both cables if you want, it just provides a little extra power. It may need that extra power under load, so best to plug both in, it won't hurt.
