PSU Question, regarding video card needs

I'm going to upgrade my vid card to an 8800GT this month, and am wondering if my current 450W would be enough to power my rig with the new card. Currently I have (nothing overclocked):

• Q6600
• 2gb DDR2
• Audigy ZS sound card
• standard 7200rpm 250gb HDD
• DVD/RW optical drive

Now, I realize that more power is better - keep in mind that I'm planning on buying a new PSU soon. I just wanted to know if 450W would be enough to tide me over for a month or so with the new GPU, or if I should get the PSU first and hold off on the card. It's just that, well, a new GPU is way more appealing to me, since I've got a 7900GS in there at the moment.

If it is a decent PSU then yeah it will.

I got a Hd 3870 512mb and it's recommended wattage is 550 but i'm running it on 500 and it is fine.

You could prob even run that on a 400w psu

Well, it's not a top-of-the-line PSU, by any means, but it's also not a piece of poo. I'm just looking to be able to get by for a month or so, and I'd much rather have the GPU than the PSU.jazztrumpet5

assuming it has the PCI-E power connector and you have not OC your rig, your PSU will have no issue powering your 8800GT. A 400w PSU will power the 8800GT.
