Don't get the 295. You don't need such a beastly card. Go with a better cpu and motherboard. For 500+ you can get an i7 rig and a decent video card. But if you do end up buying this setup the Q8200 will bottleneck a little bit and sometimes depends on resolution or even sometimes the gpu will bottleneck.
That CPU is ugly. Even if you plan to overclock it, the high voltage requirement to make it stable will have sky-rocket powerconsumption compared to equivalent CPU at stock.
The max resolution I'll be using is 1920 x 1080. That's the maximum resolution my LCD supports. The most demanding games I'll be playing are both Crysis games, System Shock 2, both Stalker games, Diablo 3 when it's released. Will these bottleneck with the Q8200 at stock and a 295? Q8200 is 2.33GHz I think.Don't get the 295. You don't need such a beastly card. Go with a better cpu and motherboard. For 500+ you can get an i7 rig and a decent video card. I'm not going to OC it. I just want to know if it will work well with the 295. I really want to get the 295. I've set myself a budget of one thousand GBP. I can't justify spending more than that on a pc. If I get a rig with an i7 and 295 it will definitely put me over the thousand pound mark. That CPU is ugly. Dont get a q8200, get a Phenom II x4 945 or 955 much better choices either that or at least a q9400 or a q6600 if you can find one.

LOL, what? Are you some type of politician?
To the topic creator: I would definitely try to make the new comp as future proof as possible. Try for an i7 and skimp a bit on the graphics card. Doing this will start you off with the newest chipset while giving you the future expandibility of a faster graphics card. To be honest, I have been getting by just fine with EVERY game I have using a 9800 GTX (OC'd slightly) and an E8400 @ 3.4. These cards are cheap as dirt too!

it won't because most games at the resolution and highest settings will depend much on the GPU not the CPU. The only game I know of that really depends greatly on the CPU at speed is the GTAIV. i7 are best for that game but the Q6600 plays it well so would the Q8200 as they are Quad cores and withgames the Q8200 is just as good as theQ6600 stock.I really wouldn't worry about the CPU.

A 1333mhz fsb is going to bottleneck a 295 easily. It bottlenecks a 280. The fact of the matter is that if you dont have a cpu and motherboard that can support a 1600mhz fsb, your better off saving your money for something else. By the way a fsb of 1600 is basically a cpu with 9x400mhz, or 3.6ghz, being quad pumped, if its a quad core. If you get a dual core, you will get alot more headroom on your fsb. later.Don't get the 295. You don't need such a beastly card. Go with a better cpu and motherboard.
