Hello,

I bought Quake4 yesterday, my PC is totally up to date and all games run perfect besides that one. The thing is, it won't even load the city for installation. Yes, I deactivated all antivirus/firewalls softwares but as soon as I put the CD in the drive, it won't even load, it just makes a strange noise like you floor a car engine and then get off the pedal again, floor and let go again, floor it and let go again, it sounds exactly the same. I doubt it is a CD-Rom problem since I can play and install any other games on it perfectly.

What do you think ?
Thanks !

Isn't quake 4 a DVD? At least, my game is a DVD though it may be different in other regions.
Thats the only thing I can think of.
As you're saying it's a CD when it's a DVD, AFAIK, it could be that you haven't got a DVD drive. (which is extremely rare at this day and age).

If you have an asus motherboard try to remove the asus enhanced driver.Open GL based games wont run with this driver installed.
