i didn't like either =\ but i can't wait for quake wars =)wicster
Quake Wars is gonna be awesome man.
Ehhh, they are both gooid games. I think it depends on personal preference. Quake 4 has several nostalgic factors to it... I mean it is the fourth Quake after all. Prey has the whole portals and antigravity gimick wich can be very impressive and fun at the same time.
I would say that if you are a big fan of old school, either game has that feel. Quake 4 is a bigger nostalgia ride and Prey is a nostalgia trip sprinkled with bizzare mechanics.

Very well said.
And now the final question- can i run prey in better visuals than xbox 360 on this hardware= Pentium IV = 3.00GH/z 1GB ram and geforce 6600TD 256MB?karlotikas
Download the demo and make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers. Play with the ingame settings some. I am sure that you could get pretty nice graphics. I would say at least as good as the 360.

you can run both games in higehst detail settings.
Quake IV was a HUGE disappointment to me. It's indeed nostalgic, there isn't a shred of originality in it. It's just shooting and walking, shooting and walking. I actually had more fun playing NERF arena blast than Quake IV...
Prey is good. In contrast to Quake IV it's a 21th century FPS, where you don't just shoot but also have to think now and then and surprising thingshappen. It's no Half Life 2, but it's a solid game. The shortcoming is off course multi-player.
So if you have to choose the best single-player FPS, get Prey. If you're a hardcore multi-player then Quake IV would be the better choice, but I prefer Quake III or NERF Arena Blast. :P Still, both should be around 5-10 bucks now, so why not get them both?

Yea, I had a nearly identical rig to yours when I played those games and they both looked great at 1024x768 with high settings.
HELL YES -- NERF Arena Blast owns! :D I can't believe how many hardcore deathmatchers used to play that game. It's good to see that it made enough of a splash that it still comes up in conversations every now and then. Looks like I may have to dust off my copy pretty soon here.
