I'm on the closed beta and from what I've played it seems good. Very similair to Quake 3.

I am also in the Closed Beta. I find it sorta fun, yet pretty mediocre. Not many weapons and it relies to much on the rocket launcher, which is over-powered. The gameplay is good, but not great. I found some problems with command response and lagging, although it is just a beta. I say try it out. We need more lower skilled players for some not-so-good people to play against.

I'm in the closed beta and it's a lot of fun, but I haven't been able to play it a whole lot lately. I love the interface, it's so easy to just pick up and play.

Not really, it's browser-based Quake 3.

Heh, you must've never player Q3: Arena. While the rocket launcher is a nice weapon to have, the real pros snipe you with the railgun while strafe jumping over impossible gaps. I was a bit more of a UT99 fan at the time due to the better bots and more varied gametypes, but Q3 is simply the best and purest deathmatch game there is. From the Beta I don't think this game will be for the faint of heart in the long run, but I agree that it will be good to get an infusion of the less-than-hardcore.

Having been in the closed beta, the game is very easy to pick up and play. That said, it is definitely not for the faint of heart. I got killed by so many BS shots that I lost track of them. By relying less on the number keys to select weapons and choosing them through the shortcuts around WASD, my game has improved. I can't wait for Quake Live to finally....go Live :D
