Quake wars?

So is this game supposed to be anygood or what? I cant make my mind up whether or not to get it.

Can anyone hype it enough to convince me coz at the minute its like "meh" status...I want to like it but its not really catching my attention.

Kinda curious about QW myself, demo's been out for a little while. Gota be a few opinions... or maybe none of them are here, cause they're having a blast playing the game.

Personally though I was not impressed, it lacked feeling somehow. I might give it another chance though, but there are so many other good games right now...

First i hated the demo, then i spend some more time in it and now i love it. But i dont know if im gonna buy it, but thats just because i have so many other games now and dont know if i will have time for this one too :)

I enjoyed the demo, even if it was a bit on the shallow side in terms of gameplay. I'm not sure it's going to be the next Battlefield 2 or anything, but it was entertaining. I'm guessing that GS is going to give it an 8.0 or less unless there is something amazing that the demo obscured.

For me unless it gets amazing reviews, it's going near the bottom of the "to be purchased" list. This is an amazing fall/winter for PC games.

Oh and I liked the demo. This game is a mix of many different types of games. It has the speed of quake, the objectives of ET, vehicles like BF2, but the difference in sides is unique. Which can turn many people off.

Personally I think this has to be one of the best competitive games to come in a long while. The amount of tactics you can use on just maps like sewer and valley are beyond belief. If you are looking for a competitive game this is a must have.

Pubbing on the otherhand can be somewhat of a dissapointment. There are some major features lacking which could support better teamplay. In many cases my team act like a bunch of idiots and the map is over within 5mins. With the lack of a good squad system and VoIP, you can't really force them to work with you.

So I'm probably getting this game for the competitive side, but I wouldn't advise people to get it for the pubbing unless a good squad system and VoIP is added with a patch. (lets wait and see)

Quake Wars is like all other games...if you like the gameplay it offers...you will dig it. I played BF 2142 since release but like all games...you want to try other things after awhile. I played the Quake Wars demo thinking that it would be similar to 2142 only with better graphics. I myself find its gameplay annoying and somewhat mindless. Quake Wars actually made me appreciate 2142 more. I will not be buying the final product. That being said, others seem to really like it. The one game I find to be fun as hell is Team Fortress 2. That game is veryVERY well done.

I loved both ET and BF2 but I never liked the Quake series a lot. I really tried to like the demo but it just didn't work out. To me, the gameplay felt more like the onslaught mode in UT2k4.

Considering the limited amount of topics about this game I think it's far from being the next BF2.

i personally love it. It has all the W:ET magic while bringing in some "new" stuff to the formula to make it superb. At first i wasn't too sure, but i certainly love it now.

It is very deep and rewarding :D

Well I like it, so I'll probably pick it up as soon as it released.

Well, try the demo. I will buy it. This game is more fast, tactical based, you have to worry when e where to place mines, defense turrets, many mountains places to snipe, be in disguise for a while to capture the enemy spawn point, etc.

So, every day you will play a different game, the objectives may be repetitive, but the feeling not.

If you like just run and gun keep bf.
