The only map editor I ever got working was HL2s Hammer editor and it was very basic map and skin editing at that. Why can they not come with a nice detailed instruction manual and very clear interface? I mean the UT3 editor I couldn't get a working map running due to its wierd controls and stuff. Why can't they have a set of sprites with customizable tools and good old building blocks that you can morph and teraform?

FPSbanana.com should have some guides, there's also a ton of step by step videos that show you how to use them, you just have to search around.

You have access to any kind of information on the internet, you just have to search for it, it won't just come to you.

There are tons of manuals, guides, tutorials for Hammer and UE 3, CE 2.

Hammer (and UnreaEd) are amazing tools. You just have to know how to use them. Head over to Halfwit-2 and Interlopers for some excellent tutorials.
