So basically i'm gonna get a HD5850 so just wanna know which processor suit best?

core i 920 or core i750 or AM3 955 or AM3 965?

i heard that i7 has expensive future upgrade while i5 has cheaper upgrades but none more than the current ones? while ati am3 has more upgrades in future so which would be most recommended?

i'm gonna get antec 300 and around 500watt but not sure what brand to go for please help? all answer would be appreciated.

The Phenom II's would be the cheaper ones and the i7 920 would certainly be more expensive. They aren't quite equal (the i7 920 generally has a slight edge), but generally the price/performance isn't justified to support buying the i7 920 if you are on a tight budget. And in terms of Power Supplies, I would recommend looking at brands like Corsair, Antec, PC power & cooling, and Seasonic. But you could also go with OCZ, Thermaltake, and Cooler Master are also decent brands.

The Phenom II x4 955 is the best choice. Unlike the 945 is a Black Edition, and unlike the 965 it has a low thermal output, so you get the best of both worlds.

Socket 1366 is going to get Gulftown (6 cores, 12 threads), everything else is a dead end, but it's plenty fast to last for a while. I would go i7 860 or so, bang for the buck/watt.

I don't understand your post. The best sockets to buy into are AM3 and LGA 1366 (even if you DON'T upgrade to an i9) LGA 1156 is a waste imo.

If you don't upgrade to Gulftown it's plenty fast and cheaper + consumes less power, giving the customer options isn't something i complain about. ;)

From the research done ppl are telling me that LGA1156 doesn't seem to have better part from current ones. LGA1366 while i had a though of getting core i720 but the 6 core ones are kinna expensive around $1000 server cpu so not sure i could afford it.

People walk to ultimategamers house to have it built or what? You can have a quad for $10 more, get the cheapest dvd drive, case is up to taste, might as well get a 600W since that card is a monster. 2x2GB is less hassle and might oc better, unless 4x1 is somehow cheaper.

I'm not sure you can afford a quad-core and a 5870. (let me check)

I thing that the processor will not matter as much as the video card, so I reccomended a 5870 (just in case you were wondering)

EDIT: for $51 more, you can get an X4 925.

Its an AM3 motherboard so an X2 will work.

But you could get the x4 925 for $51 more ($946.91 Total, after rebates), you wanna go with that?

Oh I see what he did. SMC that 5870 would account for almost half his budget :(, hmm I have an idea hold on let me just modify that configuration a bit :). Oh and Denoscorp will you be needing an os, monitor, peripherals etc ?

Only the machine still thinking whichOS either home premium or pro which is good enough if it just gaming and surfing . Sry for the late reply went offline.

One more thing is there a better hard disk (cheaper too) than the WD Black Caviar? I don't mind any case just something look nice not bulky ones guess mid ATX would do.
