Question about a processor and pc in general?!?

So i know some stuff about computers but not a hole lot i dont think i know enough to build one myself but i bought a built computer to where i could change things out if i wanted.

The computer i bought has a 6th Gen Intel® Core™ I7-6700 processor and im curious to how good it is i guess im looking for suggestions on its quality and what could be better.

All in all im not quite sure about the computer i bought it cause im due for a new one and want something good for Legion and other games but mostly due for an update but this is what i got.

That PC is great for modern gaming.

You will get at least 3-4 years out of it.

Its marketed as a "VR rig", if it comes with VR stuff, no-way will you get 3yrs.

@GTR12: I'm kinda still trying to figure out what vr really is I think it has the components for it but what is vr virtual reality ?? What ever it is I really won't be using it or ever will. Mabye somone could explain what vr is and what it can do.

Only an i7 with a 1080 would be more powerful at the moment.

The Graphics card may age in a couple years (needing to turn down settings). However, the rest will likely last a damn long time.

The i7 will last you for years to come. You should only be concerned about upgrading your video card to a 1080 in the future.

@Cobra_nVidia@vvulturas well those are good things to here while with this computer i should be able to upgrade and swap out in the future if im correct?? but as long as i get alittle while out of it. ive just never had a computer that good before so im kinda excited always have had to run WoW on low graphics and it isnt one of the top graphic made games xD. lol

@c0din3: I've never owned a name-brand desktop (I've built my own, or my parents did) but I would imagine based on pictures that it's a standard desktop, so you can swap out any component you want (not during the warranty period though, unless you want to void it)

Video cards are among the easiest things to swap out.

Upgrading a 1070 to a 1080 makes little sense.

@JigglyWiggly_: True. Sense is probably of little concern at that point though. I went for a 1070 myself instead of a 1080.

@c0din3 VR is basicly those goggles you can use to play games. they require stronger PC, because they have to render 2 images simultaneously (for both eyes) instead of 1, compared to gaming with monitor. so VR-ready PC basicly just means that it's more powerful to handle that...

My brother has an i7 2600K (2011?) and a 1070, I have a 6800K and also a 1070. No noticeable difference between our rigs, at least when it comes to games, you'll be good for years man.
