My computer says it has 4 slots for ram, but there are only 2 slots with ram already in them. It looks like you could add 2 more ram holders though. Is this posible? (If you confused about what I'm asking, tell me to take a picture of it)

I'm not sure what you mean but you can't put more RAM slots to make say six RAM slots. You can ad two more sticks of RAM though.
Someone stole your RAM slots. Quick! Call the cops.
Did you get that motherboard second hand or something because that is just bizarre.
yes u can add ram but your operating system will only read so much. As well when do add ram, u always try to keep them the same manufactored, type and timed ram for every 2 slots. So what u want to due is look at 4 ram slots as 2 possible upgrading slots. When upgrade one slot u should upgrade its neighbor slot that corresponds with it. But seeing as u already have 2 of the slots filled and left with one upgrading slot u can upgrade with more ram, just make sure they are the same type, size, timing and manufactor. Back to the OS, 32 bit operating systems only read roughly 3.25mbs of ram so even if u had 4 physcal gbs of ram u'r computer would only use 3. 64 bit OS can read almost any amount ram that you would want. There would be no reason to go past 8 gbs of ram. Heck a person will only see around 1% performance difference in most games, not application from going from 2gbs of ram to 3gbs of ram. What is the biggest performance boast u can add to ram isn't nesscarily the amount but the speed and latency. My computer says it has 4 slots for ram, but there are only 2 slots with ram already in them. Now a days its best to have at least 800mhz ram that is low latency to have very smooth gameplay with good hardware.
if u already have 2gbs of ram, that is slow 600mhz ram and u do not want to overclock it just leave it and add faster ram that may be smaller in size so say u have 2 1 gbs sticks already at 600mhz u now buy 2 512mb stick at 1000mhz to have a total amount of ram of 3gbs.
The thing is, it says that it has 4 slots for RAM

Yeah. You said you got it a year ago though. That's probably the duration of the warranty and even though they screwed you over there's nothing you can do likely about it this far down the road.
Where'd you get the computer or motherboard btw?
