Back when Battlefield 2 was released, was it considered to be pushing the limits with AMAZING graphics? Im asking because I want to get an idea of what DICE is going to do with Battlefield 3. Thanks.

Were the graphics at that time considered:

1. Amazing

2. Great

3. Nice

4. Decent

I'd say Great, but not amazing. Of course they needed to tone things back for the multiplayer.

The graphics were really great at the time. I remember flying in a helicopter for the first time, running the game on high on my friend's computer (my computer only ran it on medium at the time) and I was amazed just by the nuclear reactors.

I can say from what we have seen with the Frostbite 2.0 engine with BF BC2 beta on the PS3 and the video footage from what looks to be trailers rendered with the PC, I think they have a very powerful engine. It is more about just simpley making a game pretty, the entire enviroment can be destroyed in this engine and it is rather beautiful. Craters form, buildings collapse, walls blow out from in front of you, and the engine never slows down on the PS3 (from the beta). I can only imagine what DICE can do with the PC version of this engine.
