So, I purchased HD6850 and tried it on my HDTV(37'' Olevia 237T-12)which can support 720p and 1080i. For some reason, the catalyst control center let me choose the 1080P resolution, when my HDTV does not support 1080P. :roll:does anybody know how this is possible? or Is this just an error?

Thanks.

Some displays can accept 1920x1080 resolutions, but that doesn't mean they support them. They'll end up downscaling it. If you have a 720p set, the resolution is likely at 1366x768 and that's what you should have it set as.

Technically 1080i and 1080p are both 1920x1080, so that's likely why you get that as a choice. As already stated though, you may want to choose 720p. Games should also perform better at that resolution.
