I was going to college so I was on the lookout for a laptop. I wanted a nice laptop, but I wasnt looking for a top of the line gaming PC because I had an xbox 360. BUT it red ringed so I bought Call of Duty MW2 and I can play it on the highest setting, but its a little laggy so I play on 800x600. And I bought Borderlands and play on 800x600. I was reading on steam that the GeForce 8400M GS, which is what's in my laptop, "is below minimum system requirements. Updates to your video and sound card drivers may be required." Does this mean I couldnt play Mass Effect 2 on 800x600?

sounds like you got a really good laptop. i wouldn't worry about that warning message. you can probably run mass effect 2 on that laptop.

Haha...I consider myself a computer nerd when it comes to using a computer...i can do just about anything in Microsoft office, Photoshop, and any video editing program, but i'm not when it comes to specs...let me see what I can find....

Uhmmm...

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10GHz

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

Refresh Rate is 63 Hz

My Highest Resolution is 1280x800, but I play on 800x600 usually cause it's the smoothest

Memory (RAM): 4 GB

It's a Dell XPS M1530

I think that's enough...if not let me know. Thanks for the answers.

Your 8400M GS is really crap. It's barely above onboard quality.

I have no idea how you managed to pass MW2 on high with 800*600 resolution.

You didnt really explain anything...you just said it's crap. Like I said I don't really know anything about specs. And it's not crap to me cause I can play MW2 and borderlands just fine. I don't care about graphics as long as I can play the game. I think people have forgotten about story and having fun, theyre too caught up in paying 60 bucks for something that looks good, but doesnt have story.
