I dont know when, but eventually i want to get rid of my old gpu and get something quicker. The only thing on my mind is that the back of my xclio case the slot where the gpu goes in doesnt look big enough for a lot of the new bigger cards out. Its alrite if i buy a card like the his hd 5770 because that is slim like my 9600gt, but say for example, i bought a gtx 460, i dont think it would fit :S. I should take a pic really, but i hope you can understand what i mean, otherwise i'll post up a pic of a case and show u what im on about lol.

If you have a normal 9600GT which is 9"long the GTX 460 is 8.25" long. It should fit just fine.

Thats not whats on my mind dude, i mean width wise, because im thinking the expansion slots on my machine arent wide enough to take a bulky card like that, unless i remove the metal covering like i did to add in my gpu...hmm maybe i shouldnt of got such a cheap case :/

Width you mean thickness? Single and or dual slot cooler? Is this what you mean? If you an extra pci slot under the gpu slot your fine.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811103021here you go, this is my case, if you click on the picture you'll see the back of it and hopefully what im going on about lol. The metal plates you take out to put the gpu in is what im worried about, like blocking the card.

Dont worry :P Those Pci slot covers come off. Ethier they are attched by a screw or they are attached with a metal tab which you will have to bend and snap them off.

Hmm, i dunno, people might think im crazy but im still not convinced its going to fit, i cant see how it will, it looks my case was made for slim cards. Well, i guess i'll have to find out, thanks very much for your help ^^. May i ask one more thing, if i was to wait quite a few months, would prices likely drop on the newer gpu's like the gtx 460 for instance? I did want to buy the 5770, but im not sure it will really be worth it in terms of its performance.. Thank you, Sean

The new video cards will fit using the PCI expansion slots on your case. Most of todays video cards are dual slot cards and will take up two expansion slots on the case. The size of the PCI expansion slots are pretty standard across all manufacturers. The only difference between one case's expansion slots and another's would be the number that the cases offer. But the size of those slots are standard in most cases. As far as price drops go who knows. Your best bet for lower prices for Nvidia gpu's would be a Christmas/holiday sale. The only thing that would cause a price drop for an Nvidia gpu would be ATI's new HD 6000 gpu's coming in November. That will depend on the price point for ATI's new gpu's. And that may not happen.

Ok thank you for the info, looks like im gna just gna have to save up once i get a job hopefully. They arent cheap though, £140 just for a mid-range card is very expensive imo >.
