Let's say you have a horribly scratched disk of some old game, and you can't reinstall said game, because the disk is too scratched. Is there any way to download the game off of the internet or something, so that one doesn't have to go and buy a new copy of the game?

Of course there are but you are asking a question that virges on breaking the rules of these forums m8. Nobody can answer this for you here. Ask at school / work. Someone will know.

Also, if it is an original, you may be able to get a replacement from the publisher. Or a really cheap copy at your local games retailer, or try Amazon market place for a second hand one. Check the bargain bins.

Ok the info on the disk isn't on the buttom where it is scratched. It is actually under the the paint job to the disk. So the scratches don't actually hurt the data, it just makes it hard to read. What you want to do is go out and buy whats called a "Disk Doctor". It is a device that buffs the scratches out so it will be as good as new again.
