I've only played the demo of Medieval 2 Total War, but i found the battles to be far more realistic than in Rome Total War.

However i prefered the time period of Rome....so really its up to you.

umm no...Medieval 2 Total War makes a lot of improvements on battles... Not to say RTW battles were bad. And not to say the M2TW is flawless in that aspect. But certainly, it's better than RTW, except for 1 thing. Not sure if they fixed this in a patch yet, but cavalry seem incapable of charging. Which is retarded. But yea, besides that it is much better.

I noticed that also about charging. but what also annoyed me about the game is going to battle with mongols.

it is impossible to defeat them with thier armies full of horse archers. I mean...... That is not what thier army looked

like along time.

ago.....

haha I'd definately say that the M2TW battles look much more realistic.  RTW was great, but everything has improved quite dramatically.
