So i'm thinking about purchusing Gears of War for the PC and well..

ouch, a celeron. i wouldn't be surprised if you can't run it at all. try downloading the demo and see if that works. though the demo may not be as optimized as the final product. but at least if you can run the demo, you'll probably be able to run the retail version.

edit: oops, i thought you were talking about ut3 for some reason. i don't think there's a gears demo, unfortunately. it's risky, man. i wouldn't do it. someone once posted his screenshot running the game on 800x600 on low, at it looked really, really fugly!

no demo. i was confused as to which game you were talking about. below's the link to the thread that talked about ugly graphics at 800x600 low. the screenshot's not available anymore, but it was so ugly that it's basically unplayable. it looked worse than games that are 10 years old (seriously). it was hard to make out what's what. and he had a laptop, but overall a better pc than yours (save for graphics card), so it's gonna be a risky purchase regardless.

yeah, the cpu halo 2 minimum requirement is 2.0ghz, so it probably will run on your pc though it's not going to run it all that well.
