I finished The Witcher yesterday for the first time. But I couldn't understand the endgame cinematics. It gave me an impression of 'The Witcher vs. The Assassin'. I couldn't recognize who the assassin was? Looked like the Grand Master to me. Also was he there to kill the king or the witcher himself? Most importantly why did the witcher also kill the who gave him the gold?blackhermit
Go to witcher forum for ur answers withcer doesnt kill the guy the assassin does
the end game cine, marks another change in the world of the Witcher, first of all, throughout the game youre told that Witchers never fight other witchers and they remain neutral, only hunting monsters.
Yet here you are, killed another witcher (the 2nd if you made that choice) and it reflects upon the witchers place in the world. Youve broken the holiest of woves, and it also portrays what Geralt feels throughout the game, that the real monster nowadays are the ones that hides behind laws and edicts, and that it seems another witcher school have the same thought.
If you have the art book, you will notice a picture of the asassin, and a close up of his amulet (which I dont think is all that clear in the cine, and therefore makes it slightly confusing, his amulet is that of a snake, instead of a wolf, like Geralts, which almost certainly marks him (that and his fightingstyle) as one from another witcher school.
As a plot twist, it would not surprise me that this unknown Witcher school lies is Redania, and would offer up a plot event that the kinga son in law, acturally tryied to kill off the king (to speed up the process)
